  1. TBH I'm not 100% sure on OW, might be thinking of a different game. I'm not really itching for an upgrade or anything, It's mostly just that the heat/noise can get annoying. I've tried pretty much every troubleshooting step, it seems the 5800x is just hot. My room turns into a sauna quite often. I was just kinda wondering if there was anything I could do to improve performance or reduce temps without doing something completely stupid.
  2. Case has a mesh front so it should be okay. Might remove the drive cage and see if that helps. Repasting is what I thought at first too. My first AIO did die I'm pretty sure, so I ended up getting the arctic. That + undervolting + repaste (obv) helped a lot but I'm still hitting 80c under moderate load. I read elsewhere that the 5800x just runs hot so I've kinda settled on that.
  3. 4k youtube vids drop me from 200+ in league to ~150 sometimes. Not a big deal, I just drop the resolution but it's kinda annoying, especially for this system. Are my expectations just misaligned here?
  4. Budget (including currency): None, really, just has to be worth it. Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA games (CoD, F1 series, Project Cars 2, Elden Ring, Insurgency Sandstorm, etc), e-sports titles (LoL, Val, R6, etc.), Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve, some (mostly non ML) coding Other details: current build here, CPU is undervolted for temps This build has been serving me very well for the past 2ish years. However, there's some annoyances that have plagued me: FPS drops when watching youtube Framerate drops in CPU bound games like Insurgency Sandstorm, OW2, etc. Stupid high CPU temps (somewhat under control lately bc of the undervolt) Somewhat loud fans bc of temps Both ethernet ports on the mobo broken, hence the network card Basically, mostly that the CPU is kinda slow and hot. Is there any upgrade I can do to remedy this, or just any general upgrade that'll improve performance, short of moving to AM5/Z790? Some potential weak points I see already are the 750W PSU and the 3200MT/s RAM. Will upgrading either of these be worth the money?
  5. I actually did have to do this once while repasting and it did have some improvements. I'll try again and report back. This definitely could be it as the mounting mechanism is kinda weird.
  6. I was using my PC today and I noticed it running a lot louder than before. Checked HWMonitor and sure enough, temps were pretty out of whack. SPECS CPU - Ryzen 7 5800x AIO - Lian Li Galahad 240mm Case - Lian Li Liancool 2 Mesh GPU - EVGA FTW3 3080 MOBO - Gigabyte B550 Vision-d RAM - 16GBx2 sticks Corsair Vengeance RAM PSU - EVGA 750GT (750 watt) I have a Ryzen 7 5800x and a LianLi Galahad 240mm AIO, which I repasted last week with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. The radiator is mounted to the top of my case. I have 3 additional front mounted fans, with the radiator acting as exhaust. I've had all components since last summer. Immediately post repaste, I was clocking idle temps in the low 40s, with it holding mid 70s in a game of Valorant. Right now as I'm writing this, my CPU is sitting at 65C with 4% utilization at 4.05-4.20GHz. Getting in a Valorant lobby pins my temps to 91C. I haven't made any changes to the configuration of the PC between then and now. I don't have too much more info about the temps/performance from before as I didn't record anything, but I can provide more info about right now. The kicker is I can still hear what I think is my pump spinning up, occasional gurgling, and HWMonitor reports my pump, which I have plugged in to the CPU header on the motherboard, running at over 3300 RPM. Is there any way to know for sure if my pump is out before I go out and buy a new cooler? Did I perhaps botch the repaste somehow?
  7. Basically the title. Windows key to open start menu doesn't work. Middle mouse button for scrolling on Chrome pops up the little arrow circle and then it disappears. Dragging windows is weird. Dragging Chrome tabs doesn't work at all but dragging it from the top of the window itself is fine. Otherwise it works for some windows but not others. This only happens when Fast Startup is turned on. Rebooting (which gets around fast startup) fixes it, but as soon as I turn the PC off and turn it back on manually, it comes back. These are the issues I've noticed so far, but there might be more. It's not a huge/urgent deal, as I just turned off fast startup and the issue goes away. I was just wondering if anyone has any immediate insights into this.
  8. I have the latest drivers. I haven't really looked at framerates with DX12 but there's a lot of stuttering and random drops compared to DX11. In DX11 I'm getting between 50-70 FPS. CPU runs between 3.6-3.9 GHz
  9. I thought this might be the issue so I had AIDA64 open in the background monitoring the throttling and at least according to it, there was none.
  10. So I've been trying to play the BFV beta but my framerates are much lower than I expected. I'm getting 50-60 fps on low. I'm running an i7-8750hq and a GTX 1060 6gb (it's a laptop). I've seen that BFV should run fine with a 6C/12T cpu, which I have, but framerates are still low. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  11. Well speaking of sound quality how would you say the sound balance is for the JBL speakers? Are the highs or lows overblown in either?
  12. Would you say the Wonderboom is better than even the JBL ones in terms of sound quality? If that's the case I might get a Wonderboom. It's $100 on Amazon right now and I might be able to justify the purchase if it's that good. I'm particularly interested in the balance between highs, mids, and lows, as I listen to a pretty wide range of music so I need a speaker that will handle everything.
  13. Hi! I'm looking for a bluetooth speaker. Now before you start yelling at me for wanting a bluetooth speaker, I need it for my car, which doesn't even have an AUX input for the sound system, and to lug around and annoy friends and strangers with. I am currently looking at these four: Anker Soundcore 2 (currently $33.59 USD, normally $89.99 USD) https://www.amazon.com/Anker-SoundCore-Portable-Bluetooth-Resistance/dp/B01MTB55WH/ Meidong Chocolate Medium (Currently $34.99 USD, normally $69.99 USD) https://www.amazon.com/Meidong-Universal-Resistance-QQChocolate-Microphone/dp/B06XS53YWJ Meidong 2110 (Currently $39.99 USD, normally $39.99 USD) https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Speakers-Portable-Wireless-Waterproof/dp/B071CTB118 Cambridge SoundWorks OontZ Angle 3 Plus (Currently $35.00 USD, normally $69.99 USD) https://www.amazon.com/Cambridge-SoundWorks-OontZ-Angle-Proprietary/dp/B01LZV6TYQ/ If anyone has had experience with any of these, your input would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have any other recommendations that are in this price range I'd love to hear them! Thanks in advance!
  14. Currently rocking a Logitech M310 wireless mouse and a K330 wireless keyboard and apple earpods. I think I'm ready for an upgrade ?
