  1. Thanks for the suggestions guys. My internet is down and I'm running on mobile internet here so I'll check them out when I get my internet back.
  2. I have a policy of keeping everything on a network nas, so I'm safeguarded in that regard, but I'll run some drive diagnostics.
  3. We've actually played chess over e-mail. It was fun, but now I'm looking for something new to play like that. I know there are grand strategy games that have a feature that allows you to play over e-mail, but I'm not entirely sure which game that is. I'm currently searching for the place where I heard of it, otherwise I would've mentioned it in my post.
  4. Hey guys I've taken a liking to turn based strategy games and grand strategy games in the past and want to play some with my friends. Unfortunately it's very difficult to get everyone together to play a long game like that over lan or the internet. Do they still make turn based games which you can play via e-mail? The basic idea of what I want to do is two players playing a game and have the campaign play out over a few months as every player makes a move a day. This would make the game feel more like an epic war where you really think about every single move that you are going to make.
  5. I played all the StarCraft games, Surpreme Commander and Surpreme Commander Forged Alliance. I also dabbled a bit in the C&C and Age of Empires games. I don't really have time to play with people unfortunately
  6. I know it has been mentioned before, but Mark of the Ninja is one of my favorite games. I'd urge you to buy it. Also, a game from one of the game developers in my country (South Africa) is on sale on steam at the moment. You can look at the game's steam page here: Broforce This is also a very fun game. Lifting a quote from the steam page about the game:
  7. The max I can get in my area is 10Mb/s, but I get by with 2Mb/s (No I don't stream or watch streamed content) Just want to show how fast your connections actually are to compared to that of a third world country.
  8. Hello Captain I do get bad performance on my drive quite often and it maxes out to 100% on a regular basis, even when I'm not in games. My CPU stays under 100% load during frame drops, but I'd expect it to, as the thing is a beast for a game like CSGO. I don't have a utility for monitoring GPU temps on a graph at the moment, so I still have to check that area. I defragment my drive on a regular basis (It's a mechanical drive), but the drive isn't very fast these days. Should I start looking for a replacement drive or just look at formatting and reinstalling windows 10. My windows 10 also takes days to boot. The computer starts and after the bios screen my screen goes black except for the cursor. After about 7 minutes the login screen appears. This problem only started when I upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10.
  9. We do the very basics. Things like signature recognition and I hope object recognition and tracking (I'm still busy with the module)
  10. I just googled the time. They are in Vancouver if I remember correctly.
  11. The hotdog thing was terrible, but the RC cars were fun to watch. Have you ever played Rocket League? If not, then I understand why you didn't like it. Honestly, I don't know why it takes so long to edit these videos. After the footage is captured, a single video editor should be able to take a day for something like a CSF video.
  12. The master race will FAQ your face (Dan Bull PC Master Race rap, see youtube) Due to my OCP (Obsessive Compulsive Personality) I just hate this  Microsoft, if you don't stop doing stuff like this I'll start pirating windows again. It also grinds my gears when Linus drops something in a vid <_< EDIT: I hope people don't find the FAQ thing offensive
  13. I'm currently studying electronic engineering and we do a tiny bit of machine learning. The field is vast, so you should be able to find something of interest, but I'd suggest that you gain some knowledge in probability theory first. If you have that then it is a really fun field to get into. Another idea: You can look into doing an educational game? You can use Unity as a game engine and script in C#. If you go that route I would gladly help you with design related questions. I can also get you some material to wet your apetite (Mostly Extra Credits's youtube videos) PS: MMO style game for the whole class. You have to go on a raid to solve a difficult problem with each member solving smaller probems and leveling up their in-game character
  14. Relax dude At the moment it's three in the morning over there. Have patience. Why don't you hang around on the forum while you wait? I've seen some very nice and helpful people here.
  15. You sure did, I'm not going to mark this as done just yet, I still have to clean my laptop, but then I'll wrap this up.
