Alright, Been a little while but have an update on this. So the Ryzen 5 3600 is "dead" or broken in such a way where the MSI Motherboard doesn't like it. Asked the people I got the new motherboard off to test it and see if its a bad motherboard, If not I presume a dead CPU. They tested it with similar hardware and a known working Ryzen 5 3600 of their own, They got right to windows without issues. Ordered a Ryzen 5 5600X in the end and booted fine with the same hardware. How weird, I now have a CPU that only works in one motherboard just fine. But got my new build up and going now so I'm happy. Thank you all for the help!

I have tried every gpu, every video cable and every monitor I had on hand and I still am unable to produce a video signal. Either im very unlucky and have a dead motherboard or there is something broken on the Ryzen 5 3600 that the Ryzen 3 3200G does not use. What even more weird is the 3200G isn't a supported CPU according to MSI. Yet I can boot with it just fine without an issue. I'm going to put the project on hiatus and possibly buy a new with warranty 5600G once I can gather the funds. If its still dead then I can say the motherboard is dead and RMA it. If it works I must have gotten unlucky with the second hand 3600 and just take the hit (I don't have anyway to get a refund for it). I cant think of any more ideas to get the system to post. EDIT: Well, guess when I say "take the hit" its not that much of one. Guess I can throw it into the family PC and give them a boost since it just... works fine in it haha.

What the fudge, What a strange fix for that person... Definitely worth a try at this point. I have plenty of random monitors (Even a CRT... If that works I guess I'm going old school with recent hardware haha). It's late for me though so I'll definitely test that out tommorow. Will read through any other replies in 9 or so hours.

Asus Prime A320M-E was reassembling it to check BIOS ver which is reported as 5222 EDIT: Keep in mind this is not the main pc. I borrowed this board to make sure the Ryzen 5 3600 was working to begin with (Which it worked fine with)

7C94v19, I don't see any previous BIOS revisions that could indicate the removal of support for the Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 5 3600 is supported with 7C94v10 which seems to be the initial release of the motherboard.

In interest while I've been waiting for replies. I tried booting with the EVGA PSU on the MSI Mortar and still no luck... Its a very strange situation indeed. The CPU was kept in a plastic AMD cpu holder I kept stored in an anti-static bag. I don't think this could be the case as the CPU works perfectly fine with the Asus motherboard.

Ah sorry, Ill edit the post to indicate this but. The 3200G boots using all dedicated cards (Monitor is getting an output from the cards and not the IGP)

Checked the CPU pins multiple times, Cant see any bent pins. Or crud stuck between them that could be short circuiting.

It seems like I cant win, So I was hoping someone on the forms might have a good idea on what's happening. Recently got my hands on a Ryzen 5 3600 second hand. Using a family pc I managed to test to make sure the CPU booted and stressed test it to make sure it was stable and that the CPU wasn't broken. After confirming the CPU worked as expected. I have been gathering new parts over the past few weeks to build my new main PC. Something I've been putting off for a year now. The final build is: Ryzen 5 3600 cooled by a Noctua NH-D15S 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz (Actually have a 4 GB ADATA stick since I tested these and found them to be faulty. So they are being RMAd) MSI Mag B550 Mortar WIFI MSI RX 480 8GB Cooler Master 450 watt PSU However... Attempting to boot the PC with this configuration gives me a black screen. And the EZ LEDs indicate a VGA issue. I've tested multiple GPUs with no boot (RX 480, GTX 960, RX 550 LP). I've flashed the BIOS with the latest. I've thrown in a 3200G from the family PC and that booted fine with no problems straight to BIOS. For some reason the Ryzen 5 3600 works fine in a Asus Prime A320m-e, But stealing the RAM and GPU from the family PC and putting it in the new build with the Mortar gives me the same VGA results, Yet once again the 3200G boots fine with any configuration. The 3200G will output video through all dedicated GPUs tested (Not using IGP) The only three things I can think of is - The CPU is somehow faulty and the Asus board does not care. - The MSI motherboard is somehow faulty and does not care about the 3200G. - The Cooler Master cant provide enough power to the 3600 (The Family PC has a EVGA 600 BR). This was tested. EDIT 1 at bottom states results. Could anyone give me some helpful tips? Maybe I'm missing something super obvious here. I don't want to keep throwing money at this build as its starting to already go over my planned budget. EDIT 1 - PSU TEST: To test the PSU theory I had. I have tried to run the MSI Mortar and Ryzen 5 3600 with the EVGA 600 watt PSU. This resulted in the same black screen. So I don't believe it could be a PSU failure or being under powered for the job. EDIT 2 - Memory: Completely forgot to state the memory but this doesn't seem to be the cause of the issues as I have tried other memory sticks.

I did think about capacitors actually. That could be the problem but when I look at the motherboard I see lots of different types which makes me believe that some could of been replaced at some point. Though Ill have a look over it fully to make sure none of them are bulging/leaking. Thank you though. It could be worth a shot to replace them.

Before I start this is an old 754 system that I was building from old parts. So this is a bit of a new area for me to play around with. The system is the following: Winfast 760GXK8MC Micro ATX motherboard AMD Sempron 2600+ 1 x TwinMOS 256 MBs PC2100 RAM ATI x1550 AGP GPU Some unknown brand Soundcard (Chipset says "E3DX" it looks like) Thermal Master 420 Watt PSU So it started a few days ago when I plugged in a WD 500 GB Sata HDD to install Windows XP on through the system. Just testing to see if everything works. Before hand I had run Tiny Core Linux and it seemed that everything was okay. Though this is where I don't understand what went wrong. I left Windows XP just running and went off to do something before coming back to a blank screen. The system just went to sleep it seemed like. Though pressing the space bar didn't seem to do anything or the power button. So I turned the system off VIA the power supply (Which I had done a lot anyway during testing the past few days, So I dont think this is a power surge). After turning the system back on I didn't get a beep or any video output. I left the system running for a while as I searched around on google (even the second page) for any information on what might of went wrong until out of no where it did the familiar beep and I got video after idling for 10 minutes. Sadly my Windows XP install somehow broke. So I went through and reinstalled Windows XP with no issues once again. Restarted a few times until I left it alone and it went to "sleep" again. Now even after waiting for 10 minutes the motherboard completely refuses to post. No Beep. No video. Just a CPU fan spinning away. I have spent the last day trying to figure out the issues. Resetting the CMOS (Battery way and through Jumpers). Unplugging and replugging in everything. Testing a different PSU. And just letting it idle for nearly an hour with nothing but the CPU and RAM installed. Have I somehow killed the BIOS by just letting Windows XP go to sleep? Is that possible? Im not sure on what other things I can try to get it working again. So maybe someone on the forum can give me some idea on what to try.

I am considering it to. Since I did have an old Dell PC with a CPU removed boot and the fans blasted at full speed. But ive had a friend tell me it could be bad power rails on the PSU (The PSU itself is about 6 years old now).

Ive got an older AM3 system that has for some reason just stopped booting entirely today (No video and fans at full blast). I had no issues with it a few days ago and have done no hardware or software modifications of any kind for as long as I can remember. The system is as follows: AMD FX 6300 (No overclocks or anything) 8 GBS of DDR3 HyperX ram (No overclocks either) Asus GTX 960 2GB Kingston 120 GB SSD AM3 MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard Thermaltake 500 Watt PSU (Came with case when brought from store) (If i missed anything just ask) I have tried the following - Re-seating GPU, CPU, RAM, Most Motherboard connectors - Replacing RAM with a known working stick from my other system - Replacing the motherboard to a gigabyte motherboard also known to be working - Replacing the GPU with an older AMD card - Clearing the CMOS on both the Gigabyte and MSI Motherboards (Down to removing the CMOS battery not just shorting the CMOS_CLR pins) - Bench testing it (Only did this with the Gigabyte Motherboard) with only a CPU and 1 RAM stick installed (No boot disks or anything) and connecting to the motherboards onboard HDMI (No PCIe GPU). All result in the system just turning on with no output and fans going full speed (Even left it like this for 10 minutes with nothing else happening). This leaves me to believe that there is an issue with either the CPU or PSU. But I want some more opinions before I go out and buy a new one of either only to buy the wrong thing. Or if anyone has an idea I can try. Happy to answer any questions as well.

Hi, I'm looking for an easy way to reroute game traffic to bypass some school servers. To make this easier I have 3 computers that i'm going to name. Computer inside the school network = "Client" Computer outside the school network = "Node" Computer outside the school network that's blocked = "Host" For more detail here is the can and cants "Client" network I have no control over. "Client" computer is my own computer, So I can install software. Computer is Windows. "Node" network I do have control of but I cant port-forward because of an old router (However there is hamachi, Explained below). "Node" computer is my own computer, So I can install software. Computer is Windows (But can run a VMware machine for Ubuntu if needed). "Host" network I have no control over, However the ports for the game server are open so normal computers outside can connect. "Host" computer is not my own computer, I cant install software. "Client" can connect to "Node" and "Node" can connect to "Host" but "Client" cant connect to "Host" because of the school server (And I checked with my ICT department they cant unblock that connection, Not that's its bad they don't have the access to changing such thing). Between "Client" and "Node" there is a hamachi tunnel (And no I cant put hamachi on "Host"). Is there a way to reroute traffic through "Node" to "Client" so that "Client" can access "Host"? (And again ICT department loves me and said I can do it if I can bypass the servers without breaking them xD)

It had faults with the original camera system it was going into. So im 100% sure its a drive problem. I checked the same system with 2 other drives and it was fine with them. And the drive itself was having problems with the original system it was supposed to go into.

So ive just recently learnt that my 4TB WD Purple drive will clear all security footage from itself when the system turns off. And when the system boots it says the drive is not formatted? What could be causing it? When the drive becomes formatted it will write to it normally, I can also go back and view the footage. But if the drive losses power it clears itself and I cant get any footage.

Cant seem to find the BIOS/UEFI on the mac. Thank you! Ive already reinstalled everything but I will keep this in mind for the future. Also figured out to that in GRUB i could press C to go to shell and mount + boot off the USB.

True windows xp is quite old and the security wouldn't be the best now that I think about it.

Hi, I currently have an old Mac mini 2007. Its running Ubuntu at the moment and i'm trying to completely install a new Linux distro (Lubuntu because its "light weight"). Reasons of doing this? Ubuntu is great and all but its really bad on this machine, The machine is a 1 core with 2gb ram and Ubuntu is not happy with it. I was hoping a copy of Lubuntu would make it somewhat capable for web browsing. Wheres the old Mac OS install? I have no idea at all... The problems I'm having right now is how the hell do I install the new distro. Macs system for choosing a hard disks doesn't show the usb (Only "Windows" even though its actually Ubuntu). Just FYI I have no idea on how macs work and I know REALLY basic Linux skills. What I think I need is a boot loader other than GRUB (Its either GRUB is broken or it doesn't have GRUB at all). Is that right? If so can someone link me to a good one? And also would it be worth using Lubuntu? Or a copy of Windows XP instead?
