The 9900K runs a bit hotter than the 8700K, but if you have a nice cooler it won't be a problem. If this was me, I'd totally do it.

Most 400-series motherboards nowadays have a supported BIOS installed already. But since B550 just launced I'd recommend that you find a board with that chipset instead.

Uptivuptiz got a reaction from Stahlmann in Need help with a gpu upgrade!
Get the 2070. It has lower power draw and performs around 5% on avarage better than the 1080.

I'd recommend you get an Nvidia GPU for rendering in Maya with CUDA acceleration. CUDA can also be used with Premiere and AE.

I think there has been some misinformation here. The power supply that you already have is fine for the system that you have built. There is no way it can draw 595W even at full load.

If the GPU is slotted in the 4x PCIe slot it will be bottlenecked severely. I highly recommend trying to install the GPU in the 16x slot.

Can you give a photo of what you are talking about?
Keep in mind, one of the 24 pin ATX connector is denoted as 'NC', or 'no connection':

Uptivuptiz got a reaction from TVwazhere in Do I need to connect the NZXT H510i case to a 5v rgb header?
As far as I remember the lighting is controlled with the NZXT Cam software and the Smart Device V2 is connected to the systen via an internal USB 2.0 header.

No. The clasp should be very tight and not able to move. When installing the cooler the clasp should flip from left to right. A lot of force is required.

To me it looks like the CPU cooler hasn't been tightened with the clasps. Although I could be wrong. The image provided get a bit blurry when zooming.

Uptivuptiz got a reaction from Arrogath in Do i need to use RAM with heat-sinks for using after effects?
Normally RAM doesn't require a heatsink. It's just that manufactures thinks it looks cool and makes it a selling point for the product. This is for example with sever RAM there is almost never a heatsink on.

You can click on the CPU category to make the process that takes up the most CPU power go to the top. That way you can easily identify what's hogging the CPU.
