My laptop recently died (just outside of extended warrant, go figure) so I took it to the repair shop after testing what I knew how to do and was told that the BIOS was corrupted. Both the repair shop and Dell said that the only way to repair the laptop would be to replace the entire motherboard which includes a 1050m. This totals to about 500 dollars, no matter what route I take.
My question is if there is a way to flash the BIOS without booting or to replace the BIOS chip, etc.
I would like to be able to use this laptop again or at the very least sell it for more than parts. I am willing to solder or do things more invasive because the thing is basically useless anyways so damaging the MOBO is not a huge concern. Any advice is appreciated.
