  1. In fact I do have one, but the battery is fried, and I do want to be able to just load MP3 files from my computer, not go through iTunes.
  2. Hey guys, I'm looking for a good quality MP3 player that will drive some high quality headphones. (Headphones are mostly used with my home PC anyways.) I'm currently looking at getting a DT 770 PRO (32 ohm) or an ATH-M50x (38 ohm) pair of heaphones, and that leaves the smaller part of my budget for an MP3 player. I'm looking to spend about $50 on one that will drive them without too much distortion or be too quiet. If I really need to get a portable amp, then that is a possibility. Thanks, DAGGER51
  3. Alright then, thanks for the help guys! Appreciate the help and suggestions!
  4. There are actually institutions that will exchange your Bitcoins, etc. for real money, kind of like a bank, but these are run by idiots who don't realize that cryptocurrency will fail eventually.
  5. On a side note, does anyone know how well Pascal does for CUDA and such? I can do a registry edit to make sure SW doesn't throttle performance for not having Quadro drivers...
  6. Yeah, I'll see, but I kind of wanted to keep everything online (easiest way for me to pay right now).
  7. Hmm... I'll see what I can do on Craigslist. I have a couple of 980 Ti's nearby for $300-350 asking price.
  8. How soon do you estimate that will be?
  9. Okay, thanks guys. I found two cards that might do it: https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-1060-WINDFORCE-GV-N1060WF2OC-6GD/dp/B01JNUO6BG/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1497329651&sr=1-5&keywords=msi+gtx+1060 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L9VB642/ref=twister_B01LAYSXYE?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 What do you guys think? p.s. Can only really find used GTX 980s (non-Ti) at reasonable prices on eBay.
  10. Hello LTT community, I have $270 to spend on my GPU, and with prices on the rise due to AMD not being able to supply their own cards (and the [expletive]s that bought out the RX line of cards), I've decided that I need to jump on the train now, or be left behind waiting another 6 or so months before anything new comes out. I will be buying online, because my Micro Center has prices that are way too high right now, which means I will have to factor in about $20 sales tax from Amazon or Newegg. I want to get a GTX 1060 6GB, but is it really necessary on 1080p? (Keeping in mind I will have to use this card for CAD/CAE at some point.) Or will a 3GB variant do just fine for both gaming and CAD/CAE. Thanks, DAGGER51
  11. Hello LTT forums, I want help finding a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable with an inline microphone that works with the iPhone 6S Plus and the Audio Technica ATH-M40x. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks, DAGGER51
  12. Hello LTT community, As sort of a fun project or idea, could I use a Raspberry Pi as sort of a power switch pass through with a delay timer. The reason for this would be to allow for a phase change cooling unit to warm up and start before turning a PC on. I already know how to use an RPi as an HVAC system controller with an info display output, so my question would be as how to program or setup the GPIO hardware in order to pass through a power on/off signal, with a ~ 4 minute delay on the startup of the PC. I know this isn't really a practical (or cheap) solution, so DO NOT start ranting about it before considering it's just a fun idea. And, yes, I do know how to design and build the mechanical aspects of a phase change cooling system, because I'm into mechanical engineering. (The idea is kind of like trying to build an LD PC-V2 for cheaper, so yeah.) Thanks, DAGGER51
  13. Yeah, eBay bids are always deceiving. I found both of these cards on Craigslist (I'm in America, so everyone always overprices their trashy PC parts, but not this time!), so no bids on these ones.
  14. I'm coming to the conclusion that I should just get one for now, and then get a GTX 1060 a little later (when I get some more cash) and use the 690 as a CUDA / SolidWorks Iray powerhouse. Plus I could give it to a friend or something when if they need an upgrade from a trashy PC.
