Overheard awhile ago: "Always put your important files on your Drive D partition so that viruses can't infect it." O.o

    There is some truth to that tho.

    if a virus messes you up, you can most likely reset your OS drive and leave D:/ intact.

    But many viruses can jump from one partition to another especially if it's the kind that hides your files and overwrite them with folders. I experienced that back in college.

    Yep, but honestly those are the minority. the vast majority of viruses are adware, spyware, etc. that stay on C:/

    so there is some truth, but obviously they're not really truly safe
