To anyone thinking that Apple's new material for the 2019 MacBook Pro would fix the failing butterfly key switches, it won't.
The only solution is to go back to what works well: scissor switches.

Well I was able to tell that without having to do a tear down. They added the 2019 models to the repair program before they were released.
I don't really want them to go back to the scissor switch. I really like the new keyboards and I like the way they feel/type. Also, for owning the most issue prone MacBook Pro ever made (repair programs for a screen replacement, battery replacement, SSD replacement, and keyboard replacement)...I haven't had any issues that weren't fixable with compressed air.
Granted, those issues should not exist, but I personally haven't had a bad experience outside of one particularly stubborn grain of salt that got under my spacebar.

For me, typing on a 2016 or newer MacBook keyboard is just incredibly unpleasant/borderline painful between all that noise and also the ridiculously bad key travel. I really can't see how anybody would willingly use one every single day.
Even a $200/$300 Acer 15" celeron laptop has a better keyboard than the butterfly keyswitches imho.

@AluminiumTech I agree. I once used a classmate's 2017 MacBook Pro and typing on it makes me second guess myself because of its pathetically shallow key travel.

@AluminiumTech The 2016 MacBook I have right now is the only MacBook I’ve ever owned or have really used.
Ive got very dainty fingers, and I don’t really understand the hate about the key travel. Keep in mind that I use a G610 Orion with MX Brown switches and I have no problem going between the two keyboards.
