To LTT members with tattoos, does it hurt? How many days do I not have to shower? I’m thinking of having one in my shoulder blade.

    Don't have one, but I have sutured myself on more than one occasion. If the pain is comparable, it isn't anything to worry over. Just keep your mind on whatever you're doing or thinking and let the body take care of the pain itself.

    Is ibuprofen enough for the pain when you sutured yourself?

    I have the needles soaking in isopropyl alcohol and disinfect the wound with iodine swabs or isopropyl alcohol. No analgesics needed. Remember that pain isn't just physiological. Your psyche can play a large role in your perception of pain especially if you suffer from any of the phobias that deal with physical pain or the preconception of pain, i.e. needles, cutting tools, etc.
