  1. PSU is a month old corsair RM850, there's a a spot on the GPU that looks and smells burnt, unless the power through the PSU is unstable there should be no reason for that to have caused the issue. Computer still runs off of integrated graphics fine.
  2. Just had my first computer hardware failure ever, gpu let out the magic smoke for seemingly no reason, I don't have the original ESD bag that came with it, do I need that or will ASUS deny the warranty claim?
  3. What's up y'all, I've been running an ASUS PG279Q for the past 3 or 4 years, been thinking about buying another one for a while now. I live in a place where I can't sample a bunch of high end monitors next to each other, which brings me here. I currently have an RTX 2080 Super so I can run most monitors fairly competently. What would be your recommendations for the best looking 1440p monitors? My budget is $1300 I might be willing to do 4K or ultrawide. HDR and very very good color reproduction is what I'm looking for, I LOVE vibrant, crisp displays. Must be higher than 60 Hz. VESA mounts required. I've done some research and found the PG27UQ Ticks pretty much all my boxes, AND is just barely within my budget since it's been out nearly 2 years. Is it a worthwhile monitor?
  4. I've been using my onboard audio since I got my motherboard, and in the past few months I've started hearing incessant electrical noise that is driving me insane. Cannot locate the source. I was going to buy a Schiit fulla and had a chance to go use one but I was displeased with the response and overall quality of the audio when I listened on my HD 600s. I thought about buying the Schiit Magni Modi, but it's at the top end of my budget and I'm not sure if the combo is any good in the first place. Wondering what sort of recommendations y'all would have for things in this price range? I am super unfamiliar with audiophile equipment beyond headphones.
  5. That would be a downgrade from the PG279q I am currently running.
  6. Hello. I currently run an Asus PG279Q and have enjoyed it for the most part, however, it's about time I add another monitor to my setup as I am doing a complete room redecoration. New desk. New chair. New paint. New decorations. And I'd love to add a new monitor to that. I would just go and buy another PG279Q, but the uprise of new technologies has piqued my interest. Are there any good high refresh, 1440p monitors that have a high color depth? The PG279Q does the resolution, framerate very well, and the color pretty well. However, with HDR now arriving on monitors, how is the technology faring? Are monitors such as the samsung C32HG70 worth it at this point?
  7. Do they have a pair of headphones similar to this with a detachable cable? That's usually what breaks first and is definitely a deal breaker for me.
  8. Also if I were to get these, would I want the 32 Ohm, 80 ohm, or 250 ohm? Without an amp.
  9. I've been eyeing the fulla schiit 2 for a long time, though I've never had any justification to actually purchase one. My price point would be around 100
  10. I currently have a pair of Sennheiser HD439's, they're pretty good, I got them specifically for the removable cable because I had a pair of HD 429's that I really liked prior. I'm looking for newer, better headphones. I don't need a microphone, just a closed design (roommates). Sennheiser has recently released new lines of headphones and I really don't like how they look, so I'm not sure where to look for a pair of nice, closed headphones. I don't need a microphone. Price point is up to $200 Oh also I'd like them to be tight enough so that I can move my head around without them slipping, that'd be great. Not so tight that my glasses are drilled into my skull.
  11. In my quest for a new laptop I've been picky regarding the colors of the screen. Currently I use an asus PG279Q as my main display for my PC. From my understanding, this often ships near 100% sRGB coverage out of the box, not perfectly, but very close. Regarding laptop screens I've been sent to a site that details almost all the display info for a few panels. My question is: Panels that say they cover 72% of NTSC are around 100% sRGB, correct? As I understand it, sRGB=~72% NTSC. Thanks
  12. I have, I don't think a 1050 will be a comfortable GPU for me. This does look promising, though I'm not sure I would need more than a 1060, and I'm struggling to come up with reviews and information regarding the 4K touch display option offered, the color reproduction is important to me.
  13. Just gonna bump, still leaning towards a razer blade due to the 4k ips glass touchscreen display.
