Hemanse got a reaction from freeagent in TridentZ Neo DDR4 3600 (F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC) with 3700x + MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX, will it work?
Oh, did not know that, will do, thank you

Hemanse reacted to Jurrunio in Similar overlay to MSI Afterburner?
HWinfo64 + RTSS will do (yes two software, and Afterburner's on-screen layer also relies on RTSS)

Hemanse reacted to Ingmarr in New Ryzen 3700x build, issue i do not get.
Thank you so much! I had the same issue + random reboots while playing games (Kernel-Power 43 BugcheckCode 278 in the Event Viewer) on MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, Ryzen 3600, MSI GTX 780Ti & Corsair 16GB 3200MHz Vengeance LPX Black. I've been trying to fix this problem for days now (bought new PSU, thought that my GPU is dying, tested RAM with memtest, reinstalled Windows etc etc) then I found this topic. It was bios all along! I coudn't believe it. Flashing v30 bios fixed the reboot and driver issues for me.
The only thing I'm concerned about is that my GPU is still running at PCI-E x8 3.0 instead of x16. PSU swap and v30 bios didn't help with the bus interface issue so it has to be the bios, drivers or GPU. My bet is on the bios. It's a minor issue tho. It won't affect me that much. Maybe 1-2 fps here and there. Who cares. Hopefully the next stable bios will fix it for me. I will report this problem to MSI, but I'm sure they know about it already.
I can finally enjoy my new build

Think i might have been able to figure it out myself. It seems like its just very unstable BIOS updates on the B450 Tomahawk MAX. I flashed v30 BIOS from 7/11-2019 and i at least seem to have gotten rid of the GPU problems (knock on wood). Read around a bit and when it comes to Ryzen 3000, MSI have been terrible with late and very unstable BIOS.
Hope to see some B550 boards this year and ill get something that is very much not MSI.
So just a heads up if you buy a B450 Tomahawk MAX, just stick with the BIOS the board comes with, im pretty sure that is v30

That the fans spin up on every boot
is normal.
So first boot boot didn’t go well, but now it just boots as normal? Could be a single glitch

When you do post go to BIOS and set everything to defaults or optimized defaults and let us know.

Hemanse got a reaction from Turtle Rig in MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX, random no post
The PC does post and everything is on auto, the only thing I changed right when I first booted a week ago after building, was the XMP profile.
It was just one time, but the PC posts now. Closed it down and booted up a few times again with no problems. I just found it kinda odd that it all of a sudden won't post and that maybe other people with Ryzen builds might have seen something similar
I think there are debug LEDs on the Tomahawk, so if it does it again, might be an idea to have a look at those.

Hemanse reacted to StarsMars in Palit RTX 2070 SUPER Jetstream fan speed when booting.
My previous graphics card did that too.
I believe it's just going to worst case scenario until it gets the temperature reading.

Yeah some cards do this,
im sure my old EVGA 680ti did this

Hemanse reacted to AngryBeaver in Palit RTX 2070 SUPER Jetstream fan speed when booting.
EVGA cards do this too. They run at 100% in reverse on boot to try and blow out dust.

Hemanse reacted to boey in Noctua NT-H2 non conductive?
D15S should be superb with the 3700x, I'd guess that you'd have excellent thermals and you won't hear a thing

It is not electrically conductive so you're fine. Too much thermal paste is not an issue(unless you use absurd amounts of thermal paste) because the excess is just squished out.

Hemanse reacted to emosun in First build since Q6600 (parts have been bought)
should be ok , its wattage should make up for the age
Only big difference between a q6600 era build will be the OS setup and uefi. Basically these days you load it on with a usb stick and uefi makes it so getting into the firmware is a hassle

Hemanse reacted to vanished in First build since Q6600 (parts have been bought)
As far as I know, nothing has changed significantly in the building space since then, at least in terms of new things to watch out for or problems. If anything it's a lot easier. Everything is simpler, cases are better designed, there's more tutorial videos on youtube, etc.
Make sure you recognize all the new connectors like USB 3, manage and route your cables well, and you should be fine.
As for the cooler, yeah I think the changes were minimal and as for performance, it's definitely more than enough. These are very efficient chips and that is a beast of a cooler. It would even handle a 9900k lol

Hemanse got a reaction from Bustapalapeno in Worth getting the Oneplus 3T now or wait for 5?
Not that much into the mobile market, but from what i have been reading the number 4 is considered bad luck in China, so they usually avoid using it

I would 100% go for a used one, not gonna buy a new one unless i can find it cheap

Stop. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Real tests showing even better latency than the Deathadder. Stop living in the past. Your replies did make me laugh, though.
The G403 uses most the exact same wireless as the G900.

Gonna go for the G403, if the shape is totally wrong for me, i can atleast always return it and go safe with the Elite

Hemanse got a reaction from The Sloth in 4670K paired with a 1070?
Sounds good, almost feels like a waste replacing it with the sad things Intel put out each year, hope Ryzen shakes things up a bit.
