  1. I have downgraded to the BIOS the board came with (7C02v30) and will see if that works, if not, i will give another PSU a try There we improvements to clock speed and boot times with the newer BIOS versions, but if it crashes my PC, its not really useful
  2. I can see that it is set to 2432mb I checked all cables this morning and all is snug and fine. I downgraded my BIOS to one i used for many years before i started updating when a new one comes out. I guess if none of that works, i will probably try out another PSU and a fresh OS install No problem. I guess it could still be the disk, but the weird thing is that the PC have now been running with a stress test since i went out and just got home. So Cinebench + GPU test on a loop can run for hours with no problem. The PC just shutting off and restarting seems very random, which i guess could also point to a PSU issue, which will probably be the next thing i try out. I will just switch the PSU with my media PC
  3. I am not getting a BSOD tho. The PC basically just cuts power and restarts with no warning or blue screen. I guess it could be storage, tho i have i ran some benchmarks and tools, which all show that the Corsair MP510 that i have as boot drive is fine No encryption, storage is 50% full and i have never touched the pagefile to my knowledge I have reverted back to the BIOS the motherboard came with and installed the Ballistix memory i build the system with, instead of the 32GB kit of TridentZ Neo i upgraded to. I remember i updated the BIOS when i installed the new ram, so could maybe be either.
  4. Do you mean the the details in the reports i posted or in the crash log? I can only see a critical error that just shows the system did not shut down properly, but that just seems like a generic error This is from the WHEA error: It is also a shutdown and reboot with no BSOD, so the system does not generete a dmp file to help find out whats going on I have now tried flashing back to the BIOS the board shipped to me with, which i can with for many years. I think i only updated the BIOS when i installed a new kit of TridentZ Neo memory. I have now reverted back to the old BIOS and reinstalled the Crucial Ballistix Elite kit i build the PC with and ran for many years. Just to cross off the Neo and BIOS being a culprit
  5. Specs: 3700X, MS B450 Tomahawk MAX, Crusial Ballstix elite memory / TridentZ Neo memory (not installed at the same time), MSI RTX 2070S and a Corsair RM750X I have been dealing with problems where my PC will randomly shutdown and immediately restart. It seems to mostly happen within 10-15 mins of the PC booting up, but it also happend 2 times today while running a dskchk on startup. The problem is that i happens quite randomly. It happend a few times yesterday, but once it sort of stopped, i ran a AIDA64 stress test with everything enabled for 7 hours while out and it runs just fine with no overheating or crashes. This is what i have tried so far: Memory in different slots and changing out the memory kit for a different one Updated BIOS, chipset and GPU drivers to the latest SFC scan and repair CHKDSK scan and repair Making sure all cables in the PC are seated firmly again And so on I have noticed one thing while looking at the system log. I see a pages of "spam" with this error that seems to coincide with the crashes and reboots, but looking it up, i cant really find any info on it, especially since mine just says Unknown error source and no error I am kinda stuck on what to do, maybe a clean Windows install or trying out a different PSU would be the next step? Any help is appreciated as i am kinda stuck
  6. I have a quick question regarding an issue that have started happening recently I would sometimes boot up my PC and while doing something for a little bit away from the PC, the PC would reboot itself. I thought it might just be something to do with Windows update to start with, maybe it was running in the background of the login screen and just rebooting when it was ready to update, but that is not the case. It would do this once in a while, maybe 1-2 times a week Today it started doing it repeatedly even after logging in, pretty much just a hard reset and the PC would reboot (just turn off and reboot, no blue screen, just cut power and reboot) once every 5-10 mins I checked the Windows system log for errors and critical errors (not that you can always trust them, but i find them to be a good indication of something), but nothing really. The only thing that pops up in a long line of warnings that seem to show this (in Danish sorry, but should get the idea across ): I looked up the error, but even tho it shows processor kernel, it does not seem to be a CPU issue The only thing i can recall doing is changing my memory out for a 32gb kit instead of 16gb. So i have now tried changing back to the 16GB kit that i have never had any problems with, but could ram cause a random hard reset like that? I also updated the BIOS to the latest version to be safe there. Its a 3700x on a B450 Tomahawk MAX motherboard, 16GB of Ballistix from Crusial i think, MSI 2070S and a Corsair RM750X PSU I can run stress tests all day long without issue. Cinebench R23 on loop and my CPU gets to 65c (Noctua NH D15) and same with the GPU. So it is not related to overheating in any way
  7. I ended up buying a kit of 2x 16GB TridentZ Neo RGB CL16 as they were on sale and are working great
  8. The ones i have are not made or sold anymore, i also heard from quite a few people by now that 4 sticks of ram with 3xxx Ryzen is not the best or easiest to get to work. So im just gonna use the ones i have in now on another PC and get 2x16, but i might try all of them in, just to see how it fairs out
  9. I looked up the MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX QVL list for F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC as i want to upgrade to 32GB (2x 16GB sticks), but it does not seem to be listed, tho neither are my current ones and they work fine. I just want to hear before purchasing, if it should work or if anyone have any experience with this combo? https://www.compumail.dk/da/p/g-skill-tridentz-neo-series-ddr4-32gb-kit-3600mhz-cl16-ikke-ecc-994915547?utm_source=pricerunner&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pricerunner Danish site, but the kit i have looking at Thanks in advance!
  10. Not sure how to describe it, the monitor does not go off no, just sort of looks like a quick flicker. The monitors are both just LCD, a Benq XL2720Z and a ASUS VG278Q. It happens randomly and only maybe once or twice a day, so its kind of hard to take a video of As it seems to happen with a browser open and at the top, i was just thinking its maybe tabs refreshing or something like that. Could also be a program in the background doing something. I have switched hardware in and out quite a bit lately, so maybe a fresh Windows install might not be a bad idea.
  11. I am not really sure how to explain this, but im having a bit of an odd thing happening. A few times a day the top of both my monitors blinks for like 0.1s, it seems to span across both monitors and only at the top. Both are connected via DP. Its obviously not a major problem, just a minor annoyance, it annoys me because i cant figure out what it is Im 99.9% sure its not Graphics card related, as it happens with all 3 cards i have in my possession. Have upgraded drivers and all that. Also seems unlikely to be a monitor problem as it happens across both. It seems like it happens when i have a browser open, both in Firefox and Chrome which are the ones i use. Could it be the browser window or tabs refreshing by themself or something like that? I have tried googling around a bit, but all i get is Chrome flickering issues which is not what this is.
  12. Cool will try that, yeah Afterburner and RTSS is still 2 programs anyway Afterburner and Palits software just has a hard time getting along when it comes to fan speed.
  13. I currently have a Palit RTX 2070 Super Jetstream card and sadly have to run their software to be able to control and turn off the LEDs on the card. I really like the ingame overlay that MSI afterburner has, but is it possible to get something similar without having MSI afterburner installed? There are plenty of fps counters around, but i would like something that can show a bit more like afterburner can.
  14. If anyone else happen to have this issue, then its a bug in the ThunderMaster software. Just talked to Palit and their v.3.31 version is currently bugged, so use 3.30 instead. They are going to update the software soon.
  15. EVGA Precision X1 could kind of control it, i could change modes and turn of the light. I just couldnt change colors Guess i might try a vbios update or i just have to open the program on every boot.
  16. Not sure, I have not found one yet. Will try and dig around a bit. Palit send me a vbios update I could do, might do something.
  17. I am happy with the card, only problem right now is the LED control. Its quiet, mine boosts to around 2050MHz out of the box and temps are good.
  18. I dont seem to be able to find a whole lot of people that have this card, but im having some trouble that Palit support does not seem to understand. You have to have their program called ThunderMaster running to control LEDs on the card, but i have a problem where it goes back to the default color on every boot. When i boot up the PC, i have ThunderMaster set to run on boot and i have made a profile in the program with my color of choice, but i have to go into ThunderMaster under LED control on every boot for the color to change, which isnt really ideal. I dont know if its a motherboard + GPU combo problem, but i was just wondering if anyone else have a solution to this? My setup is as follows: 3700x MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX (do not buy this motherboard btw) Ballistic 3600 CL16 Palit RTX 2070S Super JS Corsair RM750x 750W
  19. Think i might have been able to figure it out myself. It seems like its just very unstable BIOS updates on the B450 Tomahawk MAX. I flashed v30 BIOS from 7/11-2019 and i at least seem to have gotten rid of the GPU problems (knock on wood). Read around a bit and when it comes to Ryzen 3000, MSI have been terrible with late and very unstable BIOS. Hope to see some B550 boards this year and ill get something that is very much not MSI. So just a heads up if you buy a B450 Tomahawk MAX, just stick with the BIOS the board comes with, im pretty sure that is v30
  20. I build my PC about 2 or so weeks ago and i have had some really frustrating issues i just cant figure out, so hoping maybe someone here can shed some light on it. My build consists of these components: Ryzen 3700x MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX Ballistix Elite 3600MHz CL16 Palit RTX 2070S Super Jetstream NH-D15S Corsair Force MP510 SSD XFX 850W Gold rated PSU My biggest issue right now is in regards to my video card. Just to be sure it wasnt a Windows issue i reinstalled Windows today and its still there. I install the newest NVIDIA driver for the GPU and everything looks fine, right up until i power down the machine and reboot/close down and start it again. When it boots, the driver gets reinstalled again automatically, the screen flashes a couple of times and GPU-Z now shows the GPU running PCIe 8x instead of 16x which it ran when i first installed the driver. It does the reinstall of the driver every time i reboot or power down and start the PC. Looks like this in the reliability monitor: https://i.imgur.com/aXWzbKd.png As you can see everytime i boot, it shows up as the driver getting installed. I have tried everything, older NVIDIA driver, disabling windows auto driver update, every possible bios setting, other bioses, running the bios completely stock etc etc. The only thing i have not been able to try is the second PCIe slot, the card does not fit because if its size in the Define R6. There have also been other problems and i am starting to suspect the motherboard, as i have tried taking in and out every other damn component. There is a local computer shop here, i guess my last option is to get them to take a look at it, because i am getting nowhere :/
  21. I have booted just fine from when i build the PC. The PC have been booting just fine from last monday, it was only today it randomly just didnt boot. I guess it could have been a glitch, only thing different is that i set the AMD balanced power plan and the PC went into sleep mode yesterday, woke it up and closed it down. I guess it could be related to that. In terms of the fans spinnign up, that seems to maybe be motherboard related. Palit says that they normally dont have the fans set to spin up during boot, but they have gotten a lot of reports from Ryzen 3000 users that their cards does it. I guess it could be BIOS related. Disabled sleep mode for now, i always disable it, but forgot to when i put it into AMD balanced mode Yeah if it does it again ill have a look at the DEBUG leds. I also added a offset of 0.1v now. It seems crazy that Auto has 1.48v set as the max boost voltage.
  22. The PC does post and everything is on auto, the only thing I changed right when I first booted a week ago after building, was the XMP profile. It was just one time, but the PC posts now. Closed it down and booted up a few times again with no problems. I just found it kinda odd that it all of a sudden won't post and that maybe other people with Ryzen builds might have seen something similar I think there are debug LEDs on the Tomahawk, so if it does it again, might be an idea to have a look at those.
  23. Hi everyone. I build my Ryzen 3700x about a week ago today and its been running great, 3600 CL16 XMP worked on the first boot and so far i have just been running things on Auto (except for XMP). My GPU for some reason always spins the fans up to 100% for 2-3s on every boot (Palit RTX 2070S Super JS). When i booted the PC for the first time today i noticed that the GPU fan just kept spinning at 100% and nothing happend. Held the power button and turned off the system, next boot it started up as normal with the fans just spinning for a few secs like "normal". Anyone else that have exprienced this? I mean everything works now, but seems rather odd that it just wouldnt boot on the first go today.

    ASUS VG278QR?

I'm looking to replace one of my monitors and I have been looking at the ASUS VG278QR, but I can't seem to find all that information on it. At least no real reviews. Anyone have any experience with this monitor, good or bad? Looking for something 1080p 144+ hz to pair with my XL2720Z. 24 to 27 inch and I'm fine with 1080p at 27 inches. 300-350$ range. Quite a few people have recommended ViewSonic XG2402, but it just seems very overpriced around where I live, which is in Denmark.
