  1. I'm helping a friend pick out a laptop and one of the things he wants is upgradeability down the line, especially VR. Personally I'm all for desktops but he's going to college so he's really set on getting a laptop. In this situation I figure an egpu would be a good option. The initial budget for the laptop is around $600 to $700 and then maybe 6 months to a year later he could start looking into an egpu. In order to save money, the CPU should be prioritized at the expense of the GPU a little bit, so what options are out there to do that?
  2. The setup I currently have is highly focused on minimalism, high performance, and VR. Very similar to what you're looking for, so I'm just going to give you a rundown of everything I have. The case I use is the ncase m1 sporting an rtx 2080 ti. The ncase m1 is in a great spot because it's really getting into the small form factor class while sacrificing as little as possible, especially cooling. It's only in stock for limited times and they sell out immediately, but they have a healthy used market so there are usually a couple floating around /r/hardwareswap. I got black and it's a fingerprint magnet, would recommend silver. As for the portability, I found a random year old post on Reddit that suggested this bag was a perfect fit and it totally is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VKN01XW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dRr2Db9HYZCDX I love all the extra pockets on the side too, It fits most keyboards and a portable display, of which I use this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K8JLR4C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_-Ur2DbKDVBSF0 This is a full blown setup in a single shoulder bag, so that leaves room for a backpack to carry the VR. I've used this setup to demo VR multiple times, even at someone else's desk in a cramped cubicle. Everything takes up such little room that all I needed was a small corner of it.
  3. I'm a long time LTT watcher, but I had to make an accounte here to get in on this! That headset looks soooo good. I really need a new one as mine is crapping out.
