iostermann reacted to WMGroomAK in Intel Developers Forum is no more...
Intel is officially ending their Intel Developers Forum and has cancelled all plans to hold IDF17.  This is some breaking news that came from Anandtech and the IDF17 website.  From the Anandtech article:
    http://www.anandtech.com/show/11279/intel-discontinues-the-intel-developer-forum-idf17-cancelled
Just to give some context, according to Anandtech:
Maybe Intel will replace the IDF with a new program or maybe they are seeing a loss from the program as the implementation of some of their technologies and CPU development has slowed a bit.  Do people think this is a good idea?  Will Intel release a new program in IDF's place that will produce better results or provide a more diverse approach to displaying their products?

    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/intel-developer-forum-idf/san-francisco/2017/idf-2017-san-francisco.html

EDIT:  Update from Intel on Anandtech:

Sooo, it appears that Intel is planning to have more targeted individual days instead of a mass event highlighting themselves as a company...  I can't help but agree with the Ian (the author) on the fact that this is going to introduce too much opportunity for Intel's message to become disconnected.  I think having something like IDF would allow for more innovation as you can have people from different industries that Intel serves attend something just a bit outside of their specialty and get inspired on ways to implement that tech into what they specialize in.

For Storage Spaces it depends on the number of disks and the configuration. Read speed is the number of disks and write speed is half the number of disks in two-way mirror.

For 2 disks two-way mirror it is much like RAID 1, once you go above 2 disks it's much like RAID 10.

You actually have the option if you can backup all the data to disks not going to be used in the array to add all the disks to the Storage Spaces pool and setup a two-way mirror virtual disk. Storage Spaces supports differing sized disks but a single virtual disk in the pool is limited in size once it hits the capacity of the smallest disks.

For example if you have 3 disks of 1TB, 3TB, 3TB the first virtual disk you create will be 1.5TB maximum size, you could then create another virtual disk to use the remaining unused space on the two 3TB disks for another 2TB virtual disk.

You can get units like this from NZXT, but personally I'm more of a fan of external USB card readers especially if you have high speed cards which can take advantage of USB 3.0 transfer speeds.

I don't think you need to reinstall windows. Just reactivating it again. and yes you can just plug in your SSD's and start installing the MSI motherboard drivers. altrough windows update installs them automatticly I think

Ivy Bridge with the snot overclocked out of it has been going strong for about 3 years now, not quite that vintage, but I love it to death.

iostermann reacted to aisle9 in Will my motherboard bottleneck my cpu?
No, a motherboard will not bottleneck a CPU. Some motherboards are locked below a certain voltage, which can prevent higher-end overclocks, but that's not an issue for a locked 4460.

Depends on the quality of the parts, the RMi power supplies from corsair have a 7y warranty.

I would say 5+ years if you used good quality components.

Double check and make sure the display cable is plugged into the RX 480 and not the mobo. If that's not the issue, go into the BIOS and make sure the computer is using the RX 480 as the main display device (it should do this automatically though).

Is he running the latest drivers? If so try a driver rollback because the latest drivers might be broken.

iostermann got a reaction from pbx2 in RX 480 in CSGO
First off I'd try using Display Driver Uninstaller to wipe all the old drivers as the Nvidia ones may still be present and posing problems. After that do a fresh driver install. Or even before that, is the power connector plugged into the 480? Depending on the model of 750ti He might not have needed one before.
