  1. Haha, sorry, like I said, my English isn't that good. Got a 120mm fan pulling in the front of the case, and a 120 mm fan in the back pushing (out of the case), in the case. Anyway, quick update! Replaced the TIM (5 minute job in total), and the temperature went down from 80-85° to 70-72°! It all helped tremendously! The pc doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner anymore! Thanks for the help everyone! Will surely be keeping an eye out for Vega.
  2. Fair enough! Benchmarks that I've been looking at have been really all over the place, so I wasn't sure... Especially not with a game like WoW. I know, the blasphemy! Illidan has been warning me since BC, and I'm still not prepared! (Although my Vengeance DH is in game, he's prepared!) Good idea to wait. Hopefully it'll be a more serious upgrade. Guess I'll have to look around for a good quality thermal paste in local shops to make it in time for Legion... Thanks!
  3. XR341CK, with Freesync, so not going over to the green guys. Sorry And @TheWildGamer_, leaning towards that too... Bit of an investment though, so I'm on the fence if I'll be seeing a decent FPS increase or not.
  4. Hey all! First of all, sorry about my English, not my native language. I've got a quick question... My current setup is the following: Intel i5-4670K (running stock) MSI Z97 Gaming 3 8GB DDR3 RAM Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X Running WoW on an Acer XR341CK @3440x1440. Usually at around 40-60 fps on ultra settings. Now, all of a sudden the 290 is giving me some trouble. It's running at 80-85°, with the fans running at 50-60% while making quite a bit of noise while playing WoW. I just returned after a 6 month break, in which I didn't game a lot, so I don't know when this started occuring or if this happened before (mid summer right now, 26° degrees inside the house compared to 18-20° before I quit). Got a 120mm fan pulling in the front of the case, and a 120 mm fan in the back pushing in the case. Already cleaned out the case too, nothing special. I'm a bit on the fence what I'm going to do right now... Here's the options I can think of: Get myself a RX 480 8GB and don't worry about the R9 290 anymore (Not sure if this will up the fps as well on my resolution?) Replace the thermal compound on the R9 290. Get an aftermarket cooler for the R9 290. Wait it out until the summer is over and see if the problem stays. Do something else entirely. What do you guys reckon? What would be your opinion on this matter? Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Peter
