Well the good news is your 9900k is worth a ransom in gold so you should upgrade lol.

It's cheaper to get an 11700k and motherboard than a 9900k and motherboard sells for lol.

IIRC, benchmarks for top of the line 30 series with pcie 3 vs pcie 4 showed a negligible difference on most games.

There's a bunch of factors that can play into whether pcie 4 makes an impact, and if the new Intel GPUs are any indication, GPU architecture might matter quite a bit. It's why Intel GPUs definitely have way better performance with ReBAR enabled, and perhaps the same with pcie 4, compared to the other 2 GPU makers where there's mixed results on ReBAR enabled.

All of this is complicated by how differently games handle rendering too.

i'm seeing 27.5k after googling some scores, so maybe that 2% is from the pcie? I'm betting the cpu itself not the pcie gen 3 would hold it back in actual games.

Ive used that for 2 years now, never had any issues!

Issues can come if you dont seal the lid back on, since the CPU gets hot and cold all the time it draws tiny bits of moisture in, and that makes the LM "Corrode" the copper, but other than that, no problem doing it like he is doing!

EDIT: Gallium, which is a "ingredient" in LM, is actually made of small amounts of copper, and the same mix is used alot on solarcells, so, its not the copper`s fault, its moisture!

Ooooooooo that's nice! Is the rad on the back of the PC? I assume you have a pump hidden back there too? Tis quite a clean rig, noice tiny footprint too.

Beloit911 reacted to Kilrah in Help, how do i recover a deleted hard drive volume
Photorec is different, it's to recover individual files by copying them to another drive, with all metadata (names, folder structure) lost.
Testdisk should recognise the deleted partitions and just recreate the partition table so the drive would work again as is.

You want the 2nd. And you still want to do it on a copy of the drive you'd make first.

I can't say if they exist or not, but I certainly have never seen one. If they do exist, they're most likely fucking expensive.

Welcome to the LTT forums! Any computer can be used as a server, even your phone, what dictates the design and setup of a server is the task(s) that one would want to perform on said server and the reliability that such task(s) dictate. If you want help assembling a server, there are two things we need to know: What is your budget? and: What do you intend to do with this server?
