  1. I just build a new PC and when I go into task manager, or cpu z my core clock is 4.2-4.5Ghz by default? I checked the BIOS and everything seems to indicate it should be running at 3.6... is this just intel's boost always running or what? Mobo & CPU : msi mpg z390 gaming pro carbon & i7 9700k
  2. ram usage is as normal as it has always been
  3. There is 35GB free, this SSD is used only for my OS.
  4. I have had Windows 10 for awhile but this problem suddenly popped up out of the blue. While playing any game my Disk Usage would spring up to a 100% at first I thought it was just the game but when I go into Task Manager it showed the game using about 15 MB/s and System using around 24 MB/s I restated my computer and set the game to High Priority and it worked for about 15 minutes. This is very annoying because my GPU and CPU run the games just fine. Never had this problem until recently. I have my operating system and only that on drive C: and my games on drive D: After playing a game for about 20 min my computer completely freezes and when opening task manager it shows 100% active time and wont go down/ wont unfreeze my computer unless i restart. I can be watching YouTube, and browsing memes all day but only when i play games does my computer freeze. Edit: 3/13/17 9:12 AM I have disabled superfetch and Prefetch. I've also made sure power is not an issue and defraging is not an issue. But my problem still happens.Specs:PSU- Kingwin 850WGPU- EVGA GeForce GTX 980 SC+CPU- AMD FX 8350 @4.00GHzRAM- 8.00 GB GDDR3OS- Windows 10 Home 64-bitSSD C: - Kingston SVP100S264G ATA 60GB SSD D: - PNY CS1311 120GB
  5. All my USB ports randomly get disconnected and reconnected then disconnected again but this time nothing re-connects. This includes my headset, keyboard, mouse, and WiFi adapter. When i go to unplug a wire, lets say my mouse, then my PC restarts itself. I've worked with computers for over 10 years and never have ran into this problem. Windows is freshly installed on a new SSD (PNY 120GB) If i were to guess id say something is going on with my power supply. i tried searching this problem but found nothing. i installed windows about 2 hours before making this post and it has happened a total of 3 times already. i am also having a problem with things freezing randomly but that is for another thread. 6. Thanks for your direct answer.
  7. a "bottle-necked" 980 runs better than a 660 any time. I can also guarantee you that my 980 is not being bottle necked my my cpu, psu, mobo, ram, or anything in my pc. the 8350 is more than capable of running a 980 ti to a titan. please do research before making false accusations. thank you. also, read the description, preferably the part about no recommendations.
  8. Lol like i said, no need for recommendations, if you actually take time to read the description, then you will have a better handle on the situation. hardware is not the problem. i am able to run skyrim using my other pc (amd fx6300 and a gtx 660 full 60 fps) also with my 10 year old laptop. like my question states, im wondering if anyone has had this problem, and if so; how did they fix it.
  9. Yes it is modded, i get the same fps as i did when it was not modded. like i said in the description, its not a problem with my hardware not being able to run it.
  10. no, its a WD Blue, and no. I am indeed using my 980.
  11. WARNING: Actually read the description, and my question before posting a comment. Please and thank you. Ok, really weird scenario is taking place. I’m getting fps dips in Skyrim (crazy huh?) I don’t understand why this is happening. I am able to run Skyrim on ultra on my dam laptop from 2010. I do have a lot of visual mods installed in Skyrim, i get the same FPS without them as i do with them. I get the dips when in cities and random places. I’ve it’s not a hardware problem, I know my cpu and mobo is not a 6700k and a MSI god like. but it’s still good. I just was wondering if anyone else has ever ran into this problem and if so, did you fix it? how? Im no PC noob, ive had PC's and played PC games all my life. Hardware is not the issue, im not looking for recommendations to upgrade anything, so don't waste your time suggesting an upgrade. No real use in trying to trouble shoot because its no hardware problem, like i said. CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0 GHz 8 core FANS: 3 Corsair AF120 (red led), 2 Corsair SP120, 2 Enermax UCBS-12P GPU: ASUS STRIX GTX 980 OC 4GB GDDR5 MOBO: ASRock 990FX Extreme 3 RAM: 8 GB of G.SKILL RIPJAWS X DDR3 at 1600MHz CPU COOLING: Enermax 240mm AIO liquid cooling PSU: KINGWIN 850W SSD: 60GB Kingston (for booting up) OTHER: Wireless N card (wifi), DVD/CD reader/write HDD: WD 1TB
  12. CPU and the MOBO are causing the low FPS, will fix!
  13. i see no difference in performance, getting 60 in the wasteland, 35 looking down at diamond city, and average 58 fps in fallout 4. will stick to the 8 gb though
