NoLoMo got a reaction from Robchil in Trying to install Windows on GPT Drive
Well I got it to work, and I am now on a GPT partition. Unless these is something else I would need to do thank you very much for the support!

The BIOS Flashing was the key to the success. For future reference I updated to P4.80 and UEFI now works.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, I’d rather not get in a discussion when I’m not too familiar with the Android scene. Although I will not stand and say Apple is leading the charge on everything.

iPhone 6s Plus, which does bring it down by $200. The only issue is that I am giving a family member my phone so I can’t trade in.

Well to my understanding for Intel it still hold true that ram speed does not really matter but from what I remeber and multiple people did say this that because of the infinity fabric ryzen prefers faster ram for the cache latency.

No thank you, I've just had a terrible experience. So I won't be buying used for a while for the time being.

I'm in the midst of putting together my annual Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and everything in between and all around Holiday Deals list. I do this each year to keep organized all the deals for myself but share it in a Google Doc for other to use too. Just don't buy out the things I'm trying to get!  Also, I update it fairly frequently during the next couple weeks so feel free to check back.

    Yes and....yes.

The G5 is build the exact same as the more expensive G9, the Helios (G3) however is not. Acer basically saved on the build to achieve the lower price, the cooling for example is far worse, unless you don't mind having your keyboard at ~50C under load...

Acer's model numbers are pretty straight forward otherwise, let me give you a rough breakdown:

G3 (Helios) = The cheapest of them all, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone since as i said they saved all the money on build quality. Many have issues with it ranging from driver and BIO issues all the way to small and large hardware issues. Having a 1060 inside a soap box won't be beneficial in the long run.

G5 = Exact same build as the G9 it only misses a few things such as, Frostcore module (not very helpful and it's noisy), Optical drive (....), Subwoofer (might matter to some), only one M.2 slot (that's probably the biggest difference).

G9 = Same as G5 but with Subwoofer, Frostcore, Optical drive and 2 M.2 slots. The cheapest G9 (~1900$) has the same hardware as the ~1400-1500$ G5 the only difference being these 4 things.

GX = That's their "Kings" class, the build is still pretty much the same as the other two with the exception that there is a third fan in the front (it's an intake fan) and it packs their "special" Aerofans with extra fins.....and ofc it packs stronger hardware.

I'm not trying to get you to buy a Predator it's just the only lineup of laptops in your list i personally know rather well (i own a 17 X currently and had a G5 before that) but i only heard good things about Dell's Inspiron lineup especially the 7000 ones.
MSI i have no clue about tho.

    The RTX Gaming Laptop Guide
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Other Guides:  Computer Parts | Reseller Guide   So this time around I'm dividing by graphics card.  That's because the prices this gen are all over the place and in general don't fit any nice cut off points like under 1500...  Unfortunately for RTX you'll be paying more than that.  Note that until I reach the portables section these laptops are more focused on performance and non max q components.   Categories: RTX 2060 Machines RTX 2070 Machines RTX 2080 Machine No Limit Portables   IMPORTANT: Links are to view the product.  It doesn't mean that's where you should buy from.   BE CAREFUL TO AVOID 1x16GB ram stick.  You'll take a significant performance hit this gen with single channel RAM.   BASE PRICE: Generally what I'd consider a starting config price range.  Should be about 16GB of ram and either an ssd + hdd or larger sized ssd.  I try and make it a "base" useful config.  A config with 8GB of ram for gaming is fairly useless.     Owner's lounges (where actual owners of the models discuss their machines) will be linked, though not everything has an owners lounge.     ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   RTX 2060 Machines:   This is where stuff starts getting good.  Now we have some serious gaming horsepower coming into the mix, with the RTX 2060 present in all recommendations.  Anything less is not a smart use of money for a gaming machine in this price range.  Quality also increases here.   Sager NP8961/Clevo P960ED (17" version here)  - If anyone is interested in this list I tend to put one together each year for deals around the Holidays. I usually share it with friends and family but also post it on here if it's helpful for anyone. I do try to keep it as updated as possible but I am merely human and am just as busy as anyone else during the Holidays. If you have any suggestions or corrections please feel free to make a comment and I'll try to make edits to keep it fresh. It is shared to the public so feel free to share it with anyone else. Enjoy!

You can pick the installation location during the install process, but I wouldn't recommend putting it on a USB stick; Creative Suite spreads stuff into every nook and cranny on your machine, making it about as portable as a 300 ton boulder.  It will not work to just launch the executable on another computer on which it has not been installed.

NoLoMo reacted to papapoi in How to choose a modem?
    1) find out what your download/upload speeds are
    2) see if your isp has a recommended list of modems
    3) think of what your budget will be
    4) do you want a modem and a router or a modem/router combo
    5) check reviews on the modems and specs that are aboove what your speeds are(leave space for future speed upgrades) and choose your top 3 http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=modems
    6) look for the best price/performance
    7) search for prices on amazon, amazon warehouse, blinq, ebay, etc, even, lots of cheap used modems because people are upgrading them and have no use for the slower ones
    8) if still unsure post another topic and put your top 3 and ask everyones opinion on it.

I think you should be fine, but you may as well do an integrity check.

Run command prompt as administrator by right clicking it and type "/sfc scannow" (w/o the quotes)

    Wait for it to finish

After doing that you should be fine if it was actually a virus, but I doubt it was.

While yo did not state if you use the monitor for gaming or not i can say that this is a good gaming monitor for $179 and i got this for Christmas for $159.99 and everything but the stand is great, which is why i use a VESA arm for it.

If you don't care for the gaming aspect, there are a good few sub-$200 IPS monitors.

Then there is the Korean monitors that have 144hz and the IPS ones on Newegg. So look around and see what you can find.
