  1. Im looking to sell my old gaming PC and buy a new Dell XPS laptop as i'll be going to University next year and need something more sensible/portable. Ive been out of touch with prices and the latest components for a while so was hoping someone would be able to give a little help on what the value of the old rig may be. Its got an overclocked I5 6600k and GTX 1070 as shown in the list below. 2. Its just really dusty and I want to make it look nice again so as much as possible without taking any of it apart.
  3. Ill run a nice hot bath for it then. With bubbles! ?
  4. Hey! My pc has fallen into a bit of disrepair recently and is caked with dust. I want to give it a proper clean, but im not sure compressed air is good enough to get it all off. Are alcohol wipes safe to wipe down the backplate of my gpu and insides of the case? thanks
  5. Hello! I'm moving to a new house and am planning the home network. I need the wifi to cover a pretty large area, probably around 3000 square feet, over 2 floors so I am looking for a mesh network. I have seen lots of positive reviews about the Google wifi setup, however all of the videos are 1+ years old. Has a better option come out recently or even is a mesh network the best way to go? The internet speed should be about 550 mb/s down and 50 mb/s up, so i need a setup that can handle these speeds as my current router will not handle more than 300! Any help would be greatly appriciated! Many thanks in advance.
  6. Hello! So i'm moving to a new house in a few months and am currently planning the new home network. Our ISP will be Virgin Media and I will get their 500 Mb\s connection. I will then put the router that comes with it into modem mode and use 3 Google WIFI hubs as a mesh network to get full coverage of the house and the garden. Is there anything else I need to consider about the network or is that setup good? Also, I need to create a home server to store confidential work files securely. How would I implement this into the network and what is the best option for storage? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  7. So I am unsure of its worth. Its in excellent condition and works perfectly. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hey everyone! I used to frequent this forum before I built my current pc and felt like I was really up to date with new hardware and what was good. Since I built my pc, I stopped researching components and what was new and got down to some gaming on my new rig. Now, after 2 years I have decided I want to build a new PC but now no longer know what's good and what's not! So im writing this to hopefully get some advice on what to buy! I have a modest budget of around £2500 or $3200. Would anyone be able to send me a decent list of parts? I mostly do graphic design work using the Adobe programs and also do a large amount of program development (and on the side a bit of gaming but dont tell anyone ). Thanks very much for any advice in advance!
  9. So i was trying to adjust the clock speed of my i5 6600k. after applying the changes (4.1 ghz up to 4.175) the computer is now stuck in a boot loop. When i turn it on all the fans and light come on but the "EZ debug light" shows there is a CPU error. Is there any way i can fix this?
  10. How much would it be worth? I bought it for £419
  11. I have had a GTX 1070 in my pc since July 2016. Ive really enjoyed playing games on it but im a bit strapped for cash at the moment and was wandering would it be worth selling it and replacing it with something slightly cheaper. If i where to sell it how much would it be worth? Its a MSI gaming X card. Whats your guys opinions?
  12. Fair enough. I will do some more research about it now.
  13. Ahh okay, I do own a mac. Do you have to pay to put them on the app stores?
  14. Well, at the moment i dont own any android devices so it will probably be apple.
  15. Hey! Im currently wanting to make my own very simple side scroller similar to mario games. My idea is a charactor riding a bike doing some jumps and tricks to avoid spikes and crowds of people watching. I will first make this app on a computer and later develop it into an app. I have a very basic knowlage of python and tkinter but im not sure if they are the right tools for the job. Any ideas or tips to start me off and what laguage should i use! Thanks! -Will
  16. Ahh okay. I dont have time to do that now as im about to go out but i will quote you with my results in a few hours. It does make sense what your saying though. Thanks for now
  17. Its overclocked to 4.1ghz i think. Also how would i do that? Im kinda new to windows.
  18. https://gyazo.com/58d33271ca6f0829fe9dc162c869e5e5 It went down a little when i left my game. But as you can see the usages dont add up to what the cpu says its at.
  19. I use NZXT CAM to check the usage but have tried others and they all say the same. I use a free anti virus to scan my computer about once after 2 weeks so i dont think i do have a virus. Normally just skype and chrome.
