Aight, I guess I'd better reconsider my PSU life choices then. At this point I think I'm just too used to it haha! Cheers 🙂

I'm probably one of the more regular switch users here. When I leave for work for 3 weeks and wont be home, switch gets flipped off. When I get home, I flip switch on. If I'm working on my computer, switch off. Other than that, switch stays on.

I don't think the majority of people would turn it off if they didn't give it a shot. It's as simple as Why does my game look/feel so bad when I move my camera in game? Oh yeah because Motion Blur is on.

All the same, even if Devs did put a bunch of time into something such as motion blur, it doesn't mean that it should be used or universally liked, that argument simply does not hold up very well. It is exactly the same as a car company putting lots of time and work into a new car, it doesn't mean that everyone is going to like the car does it?

You can map your sharepoint URL directly in Explorer and it will mount as network storage. The only issue I see is permission & access handling. You might have to create a separate folder for each user then mount on a per user basis using a log on script.

As much as it pains me to say this, There is a Network Admin section over at ArsTechnica, that will get you a field of people with far greater range of experience in this sort of thing, than you will find here. I'd suggest dropping by them for a visit for this question.

Because its trash for some people, just because a dev worked hard on it doesnt mean its good or beneficial to the end user experience. Theres options for a reason

I would look for experience over anything. Apprenticeships are probably the best way to go when it comes to IT work compared to uni.

It's the reason I did not go to uni, uni simply would not help me in my progression for my line of work I want to go into.

As you might tell already, I took an apprenticeship and I am already a qualified IT technician at the age of 19.

I reckon it should not just be the kid put into scrutiny here though, the parents should have had a slap on the wrists in some way shape or form too. Bear in mind he's still not 18 yet.

The fact that this kid had access to so much money and the parents did not put any restrictions on any of it makes me wonder what they were thinking as well

Personally I would have the child charged with theft.
That kid was both smart and stupid for doing such a thing, he ruined his parents financial future.
A bit of time in jail and working to pay all that off is what a judge should do. (enough to teach the lesson as he is young)

On top of that Micro transactions need to be eliminated.

You must understand that Apple will be making their own ARM chips (Like they do already for their mobile devices) for their MacBooks. Saying that the performance that they want will take years to grasp is untrue as well. Apple design their operating systems incredibly well to gain the most out of their devices so I do not feel that this will be an issue. Apple (sadly) are not moving to AMD.

About the GPU's as well... They are going into MacBooks remember.... When was the last time that you saw someone buy a MacBook purely for the graphical performance?

Brennan Price got a reaction from unclewebb in How can i get accurate information about a CPU that isnt benchmarked?
So the thing is... And this annoys me... Is that no-one here had first asked which PC you are using or had asked which socket motherboard you are using (Before they had given you the benchmarks that is)... There are various iterations of the 2011 socket and so not all of the CPU's are compatible. Based on the fact that you have said your computer is an HP Z420... This would be socket 2011 V2, therefore the maximum processors that this PC can handle are likely E5 Xeons. Having looked at the manual, this is what it states about your HP Z420 workstation:

    from the manual:

    Intel
    ®
    Series C602 chipset with:

Support for the Intel® Xeon™ Processor E5-1600 Series and E5-2600 Series,
    including processors up to 150W

    Integrated 4-channel memory controller

    Microarchitecture improvements

Large L3 cache for superior performance

Intel QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) connects processors and I/O controller with speeds
    up to 8 GT/s

So with this information... You now know that you cannot put an E7 Xeon into your PC, which for some reason others have not yet mentioned.

The PDF below also from HP's website states which processors will work fine in your computer.

    http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/workstations/images/datasheet_z420.pdf

EDIT: If you would be so kind as to mark this as solved.

    Just a few things.

The latest BIOS for the T1600 is A20 not A16

I've found PCI-e device compatibility to be flakey at best with it in UEFI mode as a GT610 wouldn't work in the top PCI-e slot but would in the bottom slot (which isn't the case for this problem).

As this is more an issue reguarding power connectors, you can get a SATA splitter and connect a SATA to molex power connector to one of the available connectors to supply power to the card (also there are no restrictions on what PSU you can use as Dell didn't start using proprietary ATX power connectors until the T1700 system unlike HPs Z series workstations where both the connector and the mount for the PSU are proprietary).

Neither are you contributing anything useful for us to help you. It works both ways. I don't think anyone so far has figured out exactly what it is that you want, is it for a game? Is it for real-time machine learning? What is it.
Don't make fun of the people who are trying to help you, you will get no decent contributions or helpful answers if you are not willing to help yourself by providing us with more useful information. Your last sentence also describes you, not us.
