  1. Ok so update on my previous topic that noone answered, My monitor (or third monitor) is a Samsung Syncmaster 743B but it has been working fine up until now. Basically, the problem is that it wont display anything on screen and it wont accept any input as I have tried VGA and DVI from different PC's with no luck. The monitor does not even show any signs of anything if you press the menu on monitor. I know it works because every once in a while it will come on and show what is on my PC. Otherwise it is just blank. Shall I assume that it is dead and replace or is there a way I can fix this issue myself? I would prefer to fix this. Thanks, Brennan Price
  2. With the latest version of ubuntu, AMD drivers should be more than suffice for gaming even if it is kinda difficult to get the catalyst or Radeon settings to open. I know AMD really helped the devs with supplying the drivers for Ubuntu so you SHOULD NOT really have the need to change them. BTW, I used Linux Lite 3.0 which is based on ubuntu and I gamed on it for a while and I found that I get the same results if I was on Windows.
  3. Why do we need to know about Child porn websites? Only messed up people would like to see them or know about them? Admittedly it is interesting to know but still... Little weird.
  4. Why are you asking for help and what is wrong? because there is no point of us helping you if it could be a waste of our time. I personally do not own a GTX 1080 but I am speaking for the people that do.
  5. Yeah don't worry. I know about partitions mate. It is just the Product key BS that I need to know cuz Microsoft aren't easy to work with sometimes.
  6. Yeah, I know that part but it is just the other stuff that I need to know. I guess I will just have to install Win10 along side Linux and see what happens then. Will I have to make the Linux partition a seperate partition to Win10 to get dual booting? I guess I will wont I.
  7. Ok right, I was thinking about a virtual machine too but then like I said I won't be able to play Fallout 4 which I now miss. Also, I do not think I completely removed everything on the HDD fully... However I did format it in Linux Lite 3.0 pen drive so I may have removed the 1's and 0's so idk...
  8. Ok so, some of you may know that I made the change to Linux Lite 3.0 because I kinda messed up in Windows as the copy to SSD didn't work at all. So, recently my friends have been complaining that I cannot be seen in Skype (because Skype for Linux is terrible and the online beta does not support video chat yet...) so they wan't me to get windows. I don't want to spend money on Windows particularly when I can use Linux for free and still talk to them in Skype but they just can't see me. That is the only problem they have. So, I have come to the conclusion that PERSONALLY Linux is the superior over the two but I am still going to buy Win10 just for them and because I can't play my favourite game Fallout 4 anymore. Will Windows 10 recognise that it was installed on my PC previously and then activate the product key or will I have to buy the product key again? Second, I still wanna use Linux Lite 3.0 so can I still dual boot but do this from starting with Linux? Thanks, Brennan Price.
  9. Well, consoles are generally bought for ease of use and easy set up too. If you have no knowledge of PC's either they are a great option for those people that cannot be bothered with difficult set up but not very difficult in reality. Anyway, consoles are also for those people that don't have a huge amount of money to spend but also want to play the latest titles for a couple years to come.
  10. Ok so, I have a Samsung Syncmaster 743B 17" monitor and it has been working absolutely fine until a couple days ago. My problem is that when I turn my monitor on, I do not get a display or any of the menu stuff when you turn it on and it takes a while to load up into actually seeing something from my PC. Basically, it works fine still but it takes about 10-20 minutes to actually get to see something on screen. It isn't like the end of the world because it is my third monitor so I can still use the other two until it loads up but it is just really annoying. Is there any way I can fix this or take it apart to look at or something? Maybe it is a battery I have to replace on it internally? I know this is not a PC issue as I have tested with another PC. So I know it definitely is the monitor. Please help. Thanks, Brennan Price.
  11. Yeah, that could possibly be a riser Issue. Are you using a cheap one or more expensive one from a trusted source? Because it should not be doing that.
  12. Yes sounds fun, It wont impact performance at all until you start adding more risers that produce a slight bit of input lag or something similar.
  13. I think it is just a beer bottle mate... I ain't see no bong...
  14. Erm, buy a desktop computer... Hahaha no sorry I'm joking. Depends what you wanna do with it and what your specified budget is. Also whether you are gaming or not but not much on a laptop maybe... Idk what you do.
  15. Wtf!? How did it not answer the OP's Question. Admittedly the first part is a bit childish but the rest of it is absolutely fine. Read the whole of the message with something called eyes.
  16. What do you mean none of us can count? I am looking at www.scan.co.uk's official website. I never bother looking at amazon or whatever unless I am buying used parts. Anyway, I gotta go now so bye until tomorrow m8.
  17. Well, it should give you more money than that back lol. The Pentium G4400 is only £52.99 if I remember correctly and the i3 6100 is only £112 I think sooo... Saves you £60 in the long run there. Good job boys!! haha
  18. Yeah sadly that is true but in the end you will save the same amount you paid roughly so thats great isn't it?...
  19. Sorry, I mean just go with the Pentium (I changed what I was writing half way through my last quote and forgot to get rid of i3) as you will save almost half of what you were previously going to spend on the i3 6100. Maybe Pentium G4400 for the time being? or even Celeron for gods sake. I would do that until I upgrade if I was in your situation. Just as long as I had a working PC until then and to save my money. (Im 15 going on 16 soon)
  20. Wait, how old are you? Why not go for a much cheaper processor like an i3 or pentium and spend less but still have a working PC until you upgrade to the better CPU in the future? Then you also have more money for the better CPU later down the line.
  21. Get a power line adapter. It will turn your internal wiring of the house effectively into a really long Ethernet cable and all you have to do is plug in a plug in wall receiver to your PC and it will be like you are right next to your router modem.
  22. Why not just wait a couple of months until you can buy it all at once and not have to spend so much more extra on a CPU you won't use for very long? To me that makes no sense. Disposable income much.
  23. I am sorry but all I have to say is hahahahahahahaha. That is why you do not get iPhones because they cost a lot to buy and repair. If you call apple they will either give you a stupidly expensive quote for the fix because they will use their own parts or... Send it elsewhere for cheaper but understand the risk that it may not accept the component because it is not apple made and therefore could lock you out. This is the experience my Mum had when she dropped hers. Do you live in UK or elsewhere??
