  1. If you peritise easy. Then I will recommend a Synology or QNAP. I personaly feel that Synology is the easyist to use. The con of easy to use, is that you have less interface options. That's where I feel that QNAP is harder to use, but have more options in there interface.
  2. I don't know any software for that. But you should look in to PowerShell Script. It's good for automation when it comes to anything there are Windows based.
  3. Yes it is. I also have other shares to the same user and thay work without any problems, but for some reason when i try adding a new folder and share it, I keep getting that error only when trying to access that share. Renaming the share and creating an other directory did not work either.
  4. Hi LTT forum. I have a problem with Samba on CentOS 8 that I have been unable to figure out over the past few days. I can see on Google that i'm not the only one with the problem, but haven't yet found a solution there work for me. I created a directory like many others with the same access and Samba setup, but for some reason I can't seem to get rid of a specific error, that make the content in that shared folder unavailable. Directory and Samba information drwxrwx---. 2 myuser mygroup 6 Mar 11 16:37 myfolder chcon -R -t samba_share_t /mnt/myshares (myfolder is in-side that directory) semanage fcontext -a -t samba_share_t "/mnt/myshares(/.*)?" 5. Hi @orindomd Try unplugging your old harddisk, then boot in to your USB with the Windows 10 installation. Under setup choos advance and make sure to delete all partitions on your SSD if there are any and then select the SSD as installation destination.
  6. That just means that the specefic chunk wasen't found in your cache. It's normal to get lot's of matches after first download, but there will also always be mismatches. Steam is always requesting new things like profile pictures etc. Have you tried with other games and are the majority mismatches or matches on second download?
  7. To answer my own question for people there find this thread with the same question in mind. I am running a server with VMWare 6.7.0 U3. It can run and works, but it's not server hardware so like expected. There are hardware reading problems like tempature etc. but the VMs are running just fine. Hardware AMD Ryzen 5 3600 ASUS ROG Strix B450-I Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 BK DC - 32GB
  8. It sounds like your provider is some kind of a friend or a friend of a friend. Most virtual machine software give you access to the server from its own software. Your provider can check if the VPS have a network card and what MAC it have, then check if the server is on the network or not.
  9. This coupon code only work in the global store. https://asus.cablemod.com/ Code: asus-debc81cd4ac0b6ab-6 The code only work 1 time, so only the first person to use it will get 20% off. Edit: coupon has been used.
  10. Sounds like it will be better just get my old power hungry computer out of the closet and pay for about double the power consumption. Until I need more machine power. Edit: I pay ~$0.317 kwh Because I know that this hardware can run ESXI with ethernet and onboard SATA. ASUS Sabertooth X79 Intel Core i7-4930K Kingston DDR3 HyperX Beast 2x8 GB 1600mhz (I can always buy more) What do you guys think?
  11. Terminal server, Plex server, Web server, VoIP server, Node.JS server for scripts, Exchange server for testing/learning, Be able to make a server for testing when in need and for temporary operations. I have tried unRAID and i don't like it for the purpose I will be using that server. It's good for file server, docker and plex but I don't like it that much too the other things. For file server I'll keep using my Synology I know, but it's a home server for me to play with and I can take some down time. I will like it to run stable, but I don't wanna use that amount on supported hardware and I will like something there don't drain power from the outlet. Electricity is expensive in the country I am leving in. I was hoping a little bit to finding someone there have tried something like my setup. But if not, I'll have to try it like you say. Thanks. I guess that I will have to try one of the others if ESXi don't work.
  12. Hi LTT Forum. I am considering to buy hardware for a mini home server and I will like to run ESXi 6.7 on it, but I am confused around ESXi compatibility. Hardware list AMD Ryzen 7 2700 ASUS ROG Strix B450-I Corsair TX550M 550 Watt Kingston HyperX FURY DDR4, 2x16GB, DIMM 288-PIN, 2933 MHz. Do anyone have experience with ESXi 6.7 and AMD Ryzen Gen 2 compatibility? Because it will be a little bit sad to buy all that hardware if it doesn't work.
  13. Hi, LTT forum. I have a HP ProLiant MicroServer AMD NEO N54L and will like to update the BIOS, so that I can install Windows 10 on it and get the LAN connection to work. But I am having problems making a USB drive too update the BIOS. I have installet SP64420.exe on my computer and formated a USB key where I wan't to install the BIOS update on. But I'm getting an error there are saying "Device media is write-protected" when I am running C:\SWSetup\SP64420\USB Key\HPQUSB.exe and selecting my USB drive. What I have tried to do, to get past the error. CMD Commands: diskpart list disk select disk x attributes disk clear readonly attributes disk Results: Disk x is now the selected disk. Disk attributes cleared successfully. Current Read-only State : No Read-only : No Boot Disk : No Pagefile Disk : No Hibernation File Disk : No Crashdump Disk : No Clustered Disk : No and https://ccm.net/forum/affich-687538-how-to-format-a-write-protected-usb-flash-disk#59 Do you have any suggestions?
  14. I will guess, that it is your fan there are hitting something or your disk read-and-write head there hitting your disk plates. So prepare for disk failure soon™ if it is the read-and-write head.
  15. Thanks. If I go for the HP, what OS will you recommend that I use? CentOS, Ubuntu Server, Windows Server, Windows Pro?
