  1. Yeah I noticed that and wasn't sure what to think. Either that is a mistake or Silverstone's OTP is something different from what we traditionally expect.
  2. Does anyone know how good the Silverstone SX1000 is? The PSU tier list lists it as a C tier, but some of the reviews I read from places like Tom's Hardware and Anandtech say that it's actually a pretty good unit. Is there a reason why the SX1000 is considered C tier (other than noise or price of course).
  3. I don’t think it’s the CPU since I loaned another 5950x and it still didn’t work. I am completely at a loss at the point… Edit: Just tried 2666 C16 at 1.35V. memtest crashed in the same way a few tests in. That said, it does boot into Windows. It feels like increasing the clock at all is making the system unstable.
  4. I tried using an old ATI card with my 5950x at one point, but I still had the same issues. The only configurations that worked were the Impact with XMP and 3600XT, and the original X570I Strix with XMP (and any non XMP build). I just don't get why moving to the Impact would cause these problems since it is a supposedly superior board. I have tried reducing the frequency with XMP enabled to 3000, but it still crashed. Maybe I'll try loosening the timings next. Edit: tried the config you mentioned and it still crashed.
  5. I have been having problems with running my memory with XMP. After moving motherboards, I have been trying to enable XMP so my RAM will run at 3200 C16. When enabled, the system posts, but when ANY Windows installation (even the USB setup) starts to load, the system freezes and becomes totally unresponsive; even holding the power button does nothing. The RAM debug LED also turns on. I have tried swapping everything: PSU, board, processor, RAM, GPU, etc. The only time I managed to boot on my board was when I ran a 3600XT. I am completely lost as to what might be causing me problem, and I would greatly appreciate any help. The RAM is on the QVL* Specs: ASUS X570 Crosshair 8 Impact ~ (Previously X570i Strix) Ryzen 5950x Corsair 2x32GB 3200 C16 (CMK64GX4M2E3200C16) RTX 3090 Corsair SF750 Samsung 980 Pro M.2 Windows 10 build 19043.1083 *BIOS is latest revision
  6. Does anyone know when/if they will release an updated version of nvflash with the board ID mismatch disabled? I don’t believe the current one is compatible with my RTX 2080 Super FE. Hoping to flash the firmware and unlock RGB control. thanks.
  7. I am already using a custom fan curve. The fan only hits maximum speed before the POST screen.
  8. I just got a X570I ITX board from Gigabyte to pair with my 3900X and I noticed that when I start the PC my 2080Ti's (FE) fans ramp up to maximum speed for a few seconds before Windows starts loading. I know this is normal behavior for some motherboards, but it's excessively loud with the high pitched whine of the GPU fans. I just came from an Asrock Z390ITX board and it didn't do this on start. Is there a way to stop it, or is this just how AMD motherboards initialize? Cheers.
  9. That’s not helpful. What are the clocks, test environment, etc. There aren’t many user experiences posted yet so I’m having a hard time finding temperatures for even the stock cooler. I’ve never owned an AMD processor before so I don’t exactly know what to expect from the stock cooler.
  10. That may be true, but I’d still like to know what I can expect if I stick to the U12A.
  11. Well I don’t actually have a 3900x. I’m just asking so a I can decide if I want to get one.
  12. Does anyone have temp results for a 3900x using a NH-U12A or similar heatsink? I am debating whether or not to upgrade because my current temps in my ITX case can get very toasty.
  13. What would you recommend I test? The board seems fully functional to me at the moment.
  14. Was changing my AIO backplate and I accidentally knocked this chip off the back of my mobo. Wanted to see if anyone knows what the chip might do and if I should bother soldering it back on. Board still boots and I haven’t noticed anything yet. The chip that looks like it on the side says K27k4??? It has six legs. Board is a ASRock z390 Phantom Gaming ITX
