I have an R9 380 that is being bottlenecked by my OC'd FX 6300, and I only have the money to upgrade my CPU, so gib nao pls.

Nope, 60 Hz in windows and Radeon settings say the max refresh rate reported is 75 Hz (for some reason)

So I ended up buying a monitor that was on a really good sale on Newegg, a Dell E2316Hr 23 inch. I fully intend to buy a better, gaming-centric monitor later, and switch this one to secondary. Going from the spec sheet provided on newegg, it's a 1080p 60Hz monitor, but when I compare it to my friends 60Hz monitor (or even my phone) my monitor sure doesn't seem to display 60 fps content nearly as well. I know that 60 Hz and 60 fps are different things, but even when I play a 60 fps YouTube video it still looks like 30. Did I just buy a sub-par monitor, or am I missing something? I am also currently in the market for a real gaming monitor (still only looking for 1080p 60fps) so any and all advice is welcome.

The voltage is varying wildly, but no crashes or anything and temps seem fine.

Running prime95 for about 5 minutes, and it only gets up to about 3 Ghz, 1.4 V

Also, the voltage will jump around from 0.9 all the way to 1.5 randomly

No, on startup it's normal for about a minute, then it falls to those numbers. And I do not know where that is in the BIOS.

But I already put the voltage back to the default settings

So if I turn it off and leave it for a while, it will cool down and be fine?

But that's well below even the stock limit. It's only at 1.3 Ghz, when it was usually around 4.0 with turbo before I did anything.

Also, when I first start up the PC, it starts around the normal clock speed and voltage, but then it falls after a minute or two

Okay, update. I ended up going all the way up to about 4.5 Ghz, and decided that was enough. So I set it back to the default profile, but now it's doing weird things. I uploaded a screen grab of CPU-Z and Core Temp, and its reading a really low clock speed and voltage. Did I break something? It's set to the default settings, that should be roughly 3.5 Ghz and 1.3V. What have I done?

Okay, so I have never actually overclocked a system before. I am not sure where to start. Here's my system: Mobo - MSI 970 gaming AM3+ CPU - AMD FX6300 PSU - EVGA 850W CPU cooler - Deepcool captain 360 GPU - XFX R9 380 I figured the safer the better, so I have a 360mm radiator AIO cooler on my cpu, and my case has a fan in every slot. It's practically a wind tunnel. At first, I was going to use MSI's OC genie, but I figure I can get much better performance if I do it manually. The only problem is I don't know where to start. I am very unfamiliar with the idea of safe voltages and how to change bus speed and everything that goes with it. I have watched several videos, and read a few how to guides, but I'm still scared. Any advice is welcome, but what I really need is for someone to explain how voltage correlates to speed, and what is a safe voltage. I've been told I could get this CPU to almost 5.0 Gh, but I am a complete newbie. Sorry if lack of etiquette, second post ever.

First post, please excuse any bad etiquette So I bought this a little while ago (an XFX Radeon R9 380 4GB): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150730&cm_re=xfx_r9_380-_-14-150-730-_-Product And I really want to put a Kraken G10 on it, so I can get some more use out of an old Corsair H100i, but I cannot find whether the R9 380 is compatible. I saw that almost all the R9 200 series is compatible, and I feel like if it's compatible with the 280, it would also be compatible with the 380. I don't want to assume anything, so plz halp.

I think that my favourite would be the headphones because I could listen to croaky Linus voice in beautiful HD sound
