  1. Here it is, the Asus Turbo RTX 2080. The card looks pretty nice even though the shroud is plastic. It underwent about 2 hours of testing, 3DMark, Heaven Benchmark, Aida64 stress testing. All seemed fine, no weird issues and the card's temperature was at maximum 82C. It wasn't the most quiet card, but it wasn't too bad. In the meantime I prepared the my pc, drained the previous loop and started cleaning. Cable managment in the case is pretty difficult. Especially with the 2 x 2 USB 3.0 cables which are very thick. That's it for now!
  2. If the price difference isn't a lot for you, go for the 2070.
  3. It appears to be modified Fractal Node 202.
  4. I guess it's possible this time because the AIB cards were released the same day as the FE cards and they basically only changed the cooler and not the PCB.
  5. I'd say it really depends on the situation. I my case I am going to buy the 2080 instead of the 1080ti because the price difference isn't worth it to me to buy an older generation card.
  6. I think the (personal) benefits for going with a AIB card outweigh the benefits for the FE card. Thanks for the input.
  7. Hmm that also makes sense.. I was planning to go with the Turbo card, so hopefully you're right
  8. But isn't this also related to the silicon die itself. Higher graded dies will perform better, which as far as I know Nvidia keeps for themselfs to make the FE cards. I understand what you mean, you're also saying (like most) that for water cooling it doesn't really matter which card to get. I suspected that the performance margins are very low between the cards, but it never hurts to ask
  9. I already checked, I'm getting the EK block which fits both FE and Asus card. I figured as much, but I thought Nvidia keeps the best binned PCBs, which I can then probably overclock further. That's what I'm thinking anyway...
  10. Hi all, I'm going to buy a 2080 this week but I'm still debating which one to get. I'm leaning towards the Asus Turbo 2080 since I can make a single slot card from it, but I've also heard that Nvidia keeps the 'best' cards for the FE series. Cheers.

Hi, I used the Bitspower None Chamfer Crystal Link Tube OD 12MM
  13. The spooky one is great, the rest I do not know.
  14. Hi, I'm probably going to buy the Asus 2080 Turbo next week and put a waterblock on it. Now my case/PSU doesn't allow for a PCB longer than 268mm. The nvidia website says the FE 2080 is 266.74mm and I just got an email from EK saying the PCB is 270mm, but that's probably rounded up. I was wondering if someone could measure the PCB length for me? Not including the i/o, just the PCB. Cheers.
  15. For a 50 (dollar) difference I'd say go for the cooler one indeed. It is quite a lot yes. But it's just a guess, might be 1-5 degrees.
  16. I don't have them but difference in temps will probably be within 5-10 degrees, where the ultra will be cooler.
  17. I'm in the same position you're in and I am getting a 2080. In my opinion it's worth the price difference to get a new gen GPU, even though performance is similar. I believe future driver updates will help improve the performance somewhat (prob not much though). I just do not get spending 700> on an older generation GPU.You might as well spend 100 more and get the latest.
  18. I'd recommend the Dell Alienware AW3418DW, which is the monitor I plan on getting sometime this year. It has 1440p curved IPS panel, 100 Hz (overclock to 120Hz), 4ms and gsync. Allthough it's 1000 bucks, I'd personnally think this is one of the best monitors out there at the moment.
  19. Play it again in the Death March difficulty settiing Not many other games meet the same level of storytelling. I personally got a Witcher 3 feeling playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, but I've only played for 2 hours.
  20. Depends on the performance difference... I'd say if the difference between the 2070 and 1080 is no more than 5-10%. I'd get the 2070 if the price is the same for the 1080. I'm in the same situation with the 1080ti and 2080.
  21. Guild Wars 2 definitely gets my vote too. Gameplay is amazing, same for the community. Games still gets big updates and the world is very very large. I personally have over 3000 hours in it since releas, but at the moment I've stopped playing. I only play once a new story patch is released. Personally I would have liked it if they didn't released mounts into GW2, it kinda killed the original gameplay for me.
  22. Yeah, that's way to much backlight bleeding. You should return it.
  23. Why are you disappointed in the 1440p 144hz? What other type of games do you play? If only shooters, get the 240. I personally have the Asus MG278Q (which is 1440p 144hz) and love it.
  24. Hi, I'm Dutch and recently graduated so I'll try to give somewhat of an impression. I haven't studied in Delft myself, but in Groningen. One of the first things you must know about living in the Netherlands for international students is that it's really hard to find an accommodation. All cities having universities are having difficulties with accommodations for students and international ones in particular. As an example, I've heard that employees of the University of Groningen were asked if they could house international students for a while because there is a massive shortage. Plus, if you do find one expect to pay a high price as people will charge a lot. I'd say around 300-400 euro's a month for a 10-15m2 room is considered normal/cheap, depending on the house and location, I'm not sure about prices in Delft. Also be carefull when looking for an accommodation, there are various websites that are made for scamming you. You have to pay, say 1000 euros upfront, and when you arrive there isn't a room. Websites that are good are; https://kamernet.nl/, https://www.funda.nl/. It will help a lot if you already know someone in Delft who can help you. That being said. The things you list are all true. You will get a bike and you'll find out the people can be blunt. Transport in cities having universities is great and also the intercity transport is good, though expensive (not sure about discounts for international students, you should look into that). I'd say it's not important for you to learn Dutch beforehand. As you say, almost all people in the Netherlands speak English and the study itself will of course be in English. Some German words are very similair to Dutch words, though. From what I've heard Delft is a nice place to study. I'd recommend finding a study/sport association which is a great way to connect to other students. If you have any more questions, just ask (great choice on Aerospace Engineering btw)
