  1. Hello there, TL;DR: I have the NZXT S340 non-Elite. If I place two Corsair ML140 Pro LED White fans in the back, do I need any front intake fans? Will the negative pressure suck in extra dust? Right now I have an NZXT S340 (non-Elite) with two stock fans in the back, and two Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition White LED fans in the front. However, one of the stock fans sounds like a chainsaw sometimes. Also, the LED fans in the front are only 3 pins, meaning for my current setup they either run at full speed, or barely give off any light, since speed and brightness are controlled by the same pin... or something. In short, I need some new fans. I watched this video from Dawid Does Tech Stuff, in which he states front intakes are not really necessary for the S340, since the front is quite restricted. I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 (not OC'ed) with a Hyper 212 Black Edition and a Radeon RX 5600XT. So temperature-wise the case is not much of a problem for me. However, only having two fans in the back might create negative pressure inside my case, as per this Techquicky. So would it be a problem installing only two fans in the back? I don't wanna suck more dust into my case than necessary. The case does have a magnetic dust filter in the front, which has worked very well over the past 5 or so years. Since I still want white LED's (or RGB, but I'd probably put them only on white or blue anyway) I settled on the Corsair ML140 Pro LED fans. They are the same price as the ML120's in my area, and I thought 2x140 might be better than 2x120 to compensate for a lack of front intake fans. Also, I'd prefer somewhat quiet fans if that's possible. What do you guys think? Also, if you have any suggestions for other fans, please let me know. Thank you :)
  2. Omg I feel stupid now. The tutorial I followed might be older, so they probably changed the way it works since then. Thanks!
  3. Hello there, I recently upgraded my PC, including switching from an NVIDIA GTX 970 to and AMD RX 5600XT. That also included a fresh install of Windows. So I had to reinstall the ICC colour profile in windows as well. On my old hardware this was not a problem, but now it won't work for some reason. When I try to add the ICC profile it just won't load. 2020.07.27-17.10.mp4 I already searched a lot online but there is no clear solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Okay I feel really dumb but I fixed it. I apparently installed experimental drivers by manually updating. When I updated my drivers it simply said "new version available" so I installed them. I don't know why I didn't try this earlier but I used AMD cleaner tool to remove the drivers and then reinstalled them. There it said "Recommended 20.4.something" and "optional 20.7.2" which was the one I updated to. So I installed the 20.4 and now it's fixed... It boots as fast as ever again.
  5. I built my PC about a week ago. I then enabled XMP. Today I realised I still had to update the vBIOS of my graphics card. I followed the instructions which were: 1. Flash vBIOS 2. Restart and that's all I did. Am I stupid?
  6. I'm not 100% sure what you mean. After building my PC I enabled XMP and have not touched that since. It has worked fine since then. Pretty sure I didn't touch anything else after that. Should I try turning XMP off?
  7. I'm not sure it does... There's no AMD controller in here. Some searching on the interwebs also told me rolling back the drivers might work, but it's greyed out for all of them.
  8. Yes I'm familiar with the Device Manager, but your screenshots still help massively. I thought he meant to ask of I made a restore point for Windows itself, which I did not. Thanks a ton, I really appreciate the help!
  9. No I did not... is that really the only way to recover? Damnit I just installed everything.
  10. Perhaps you could ask if there is a wired connection available anywhere? That would definitely help. If you're lucky some hotels have the router accessible inside your room. If that's the case you could bring along an Ethernet cable and plug in directly from there. WiFi is generally less stable then a wired connection, especially in hotels from my experience.
  11. Hi, I need help. TL;DR My PC boots super slow after I updatet the BIOS on my Gigabyte RX 5600 XT Gaming OC, from F60 to F61. Longer version: Just got my new PC with a Gigabyte RX 5600 XT Gaming OC. I installed Aorus Engine and there it said I had BIOS version F60. Also my AMD Drivers told me the specs of the card, which were clearly the older ones. On their website it listed F61 (among others) so I downloaded that. I carefully read the readme file and it said F60 > F61. So I closed all background programs, ran the tool as admin and it said "Succes ! Would you restart your computer?" And so I did... And I got the boot up screen... For a very long time it kept saying "press del to enter BIOS" like it usually only does for a second. Then I finally got the Windows spinny ball loading animation, which also took way longer than before. I finally got to my desktop and checked the AMD software and Aorus Engine. Both confirmed I had now BIOS F61. I decided to restart my PC once more to check if this wasn't a one time thing... But unfortunately it is not. Where it took my PC seconds to boot, it now takes minutes. I also updated my AMD drivers before I did this, so maybe that also influences it. Any ideas? I just got this PC and I'm not really that inexperienced, but now I feel stupid for messing this up. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  12. Okay thanks for that explanation. I guess I will find out if it holds up
  13. Ah okay, I thought so. He's absolutely right though, because the cheapest RX 5700 a couple months ago was around € 300, and I believe I even saw the Red Dragon for a price close to that. Now the cheapest one starts at €350... And that's if they're in stock, because they've been going in and out lately, in all of Europe I think even.
  14. Hello there! I would like some advice about an upgrade I'm going to do soon. I mainly use my PC for gaming. TL;DR - Any feedback on my current upgrade plans? I am upgrading from: i5-4590 GTX 970 2x4 GB RAM MSI H97 PC Mate To: Ryzen 5 3600 MSI RX 5700 MECH GP OC (possibly another brand) 2x8 GB RAM (Not sure which DIMMs yet tho) ASRock B450M Steel Legend Stuff I'll keep: 1 TB HDD 250 & 120 GB SSD's Hyper 212 EVO (Black) NZXT S340 Corsair CS550M PSU 2x Corsair AF120 fans + 2 stock case fans Asus VG248QE Monitor (1080p & 144Hz) Oculus Rift S I hope to play: Alyx, RDR2 & Cyberpunk 2077 (and some other games but I'm quite sure I can run them) More info & further questions I've been wanting to upgrade for a while now, but I held off. First because I wanted to focus on my studies, second because I hoped there would be some new stuff once my first year was done, and finally because of the whole COVID thing. Unfortunately there have been no new CPUs or GPUs released while I was patiently waiting to upgrade, but I'm done waiting and have decided to upgrade nonetheless. I know it's not the best time and I will not have ray-tracing and DLSS, but I can live with that. So I put together the above mentioned parts to upgrade my PC. I do still have a bunch of questions though. I should mention that I live in The Netherlands, so prices are probably very different from other parts of the world. I will leave some links below where you can see the price in my area for parts, if you want to recommend different ones. The questions: GPU I picked the MSI MECH GP OC because it's one of the cheapest RX 5700's in my area, and it's also black-white (I know...) I'm hoping to be able to flash the XT bios to it, but I find it hard to predict how the temps and noise will be impacted. Other cheap cards in my area are the ASRock Challenger and the ASUS Dual EVO. Of course I'm willing to sacrifice my coherent colour scheme if any of these cards is better, so should I? Mobo For the motherboard I chose mATX B450 because I don't really need the extra features of other chipsets and ATX, and it's just cheaper. I did want a decent one though, so at first I settled on the ASRock B450M Pro4. Then I noticed that for only €10 more I could get the Steel Legend. Now I don't really care about the RGB (especially since I heard the software is rubbish), but overall it seemed like a better board and worth the extra money. Also, it has 5x4 pins fan headers, instead of 3 for the Pro4. Now I'm not sure if that even matters, as I still have 2 stock fans which are 3 pins. But I might switch those fans out in the future anyway. So my questions here is: is it worth the extra money? RAM I decided on 2x8 GB 3200 MT/s CL16 RAM, as that's a pretty good speed with Ryzen (I think) for a very affordable price. However, none of the modules with those specs that are affordable in my area are on the QVL's of the Mobo's I mentioned here above. I know that doesn't mean they won't work at all, but should I take the risk? My choice is one of the following: HyperX (HX432C16FB3K2/16) These are the cheapest and I think they look pretty cool, so these have my preference. Corsair (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 or CMK16GX4M2D3200C16) Reviews say these don't always play nice on B450 G.Skill (F4-3200C16D-16GVGB or F4-3200C16D-16GVKB) Any other feedback is always appreciated of course Part Prices - My budget for this upgrade is around €700 RAM GPU Mobo Other (Price comparison site) And then there's the CPU of course, but I'm pretty much definite that I want the R5 3600. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
  15. For me they are at similar price points. The RX 5700 used to be 320, but now for some reason it has risen to 360, whereas the 2060 has remained at around 340 for me.
  16. Right? That's what I felt. I mean it's still not AWESOME GAMER RAY TRACING 293084 FPS ON 16K MONITOR, but it's pretty good still I think.
  17. I have a 1080p monitor, so for me it'd be fine actually. I'm happy with 60 fps for Ray-traced games, then I can play non-RTX games at more FPS, and benefit from my 144Hz...
  18. *sad noises* Okay, different question then: within my € 350 budget, what do you recommend? RX 5700 and flash that to the XT bios? If ray tracing is not an option at this price point, than maybe that is a better option? Edit: thanks for all your help btw, I appreciate it!
  19. I am aware that ray tracing at the RTX 2060 is not very good. But for games like Wolfenstein (and hopefully Cyberpunk) DLSS 2.0 can do a lot to increase performance right? I thought by going with the RTX 2060 instead of the RX 5700 I'd future proof it somewhat, is that not the case then? I hope I don't sound ignorant... EDIT: This seems decent, with the DLSS 2.0 update?
  20. Oh yes, thank you. I completely forgot to look for reviews on PCPP as well. I don't use it to browse parts tho, as the prices are not always up to date for the Dutch version. But helpful nonetheless!
  21. Okay thanks a lot. Perhaps that is the difference between the Pro and non-Pro editions then. Thanks!
