Those are jumper settings, similar to the IDE drives you mention, but for SATA specific options depending on the drive maker. For example, on this Western Digital support page for mobile drives, it shows two options: Reduced Power Spinup - RPS: Used by external hard disks to reduce spinup current and allows it to work over USB interface. Spread Spectrum Clocking - SSC: Used when your SATA controller doesn't support SSC by default.

Why would you need Hotswapable Storage on the Servers? Unraid will handle the NAS and VM management. The gameserver VM does not need any hotswap storage... For the AI VM, you can search for a motherboard with two USB controllers or use a USB add-in card to make things easier.

Hi, Basically, Unraid can already take over the Nas part. After all, Unraid is a NAS operating system. Virtualization is only the cherry on top.
