  1. This nice little pc would make a great htpc for my dorm room at college. Would be way easier than plugging in a laptop through hdmi every time we want to watch netflix
  2. Still not bad, although unless I'm mistaken the 3 has WiFi too, feel free to correct if that's wrong. The other bit is that apparently you can't connect to wpa-2 enterprise with a miner
  3. That may be the way i go, I know heat shouldnt be an issue for me once winter rolls around but before that idk, may have to hold off. Do you know if the 3+ has ethernet too or is it a one or the other type thing?
  4. both good points, I was looking on ebay and I was finding antminer s3's for around 150 or less. I'm just not sure how loud those would be and if I would be able to run those on the school network since if I read it right they just plug in through ethernet and from experience last year they seem to have the network setup to slowdown/stop traffic if there is a switch with 1+ clients running from 1 ethernet wall port.
  5. I was looking through newegg today and came across this on sale, ending today 7/20/15. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6802Z13126&ignorebbr=1 I've mined ltc before but stopped last spring when the difficulty went up. Since I'm going back to school in the fall in the northeast where its a bit colder and the power is already paid for I figured Id start thinking about getting back into mining. edit: foreseeing this since I said ltc earlier, I know that the mining mines btc Basically, since my power is "free" do you think this mining would work out ok, mainly since all ive ever really heard of is the spondully and antminer (sp?). At current prices and difficulty i would break even in about 3 months, probably a bit more since id need to pickup a heatsink.
  6. Subject says it all. Does anybody have any experience with writing visualforce pages in salesforce
  7. I have a group Skype chat tomorrow for a college computer project with some students from a school in Romania. The topic that we have is "the internet of things". Does anybody have any thought or conversation invoking topics/thoughts on the topic?
  8. I don't remember how I first found ltt but i'm pretty sure it was through suggested videos. I eventually joined the forum because i had checked it out and it seemed like great community and place to learn more about computers.
  9. My school has the herman miller Aerons and I can say that they are very comfortable. You can even adjust at what point the lean back lock comes on, ie an inch, half way back, wherever you want. My only complaint would be that I don't know if I can move the armrests up and down, but that's not too bad.
  10. I would like to play around with magento but whenever i go to try and download the community version it just brings me back to their main page and nothing happens, oh well. As far as woo commerce goes, if I understand it right it is just a plugin for word press, right? I might have to look into the paypal integration, thanks edit: I got the wordpress working with bbpress and woocomerce so now I get to play around with those, thanks for the help
  11. As I said in the title, I am researching making a forum/e-commerce site in the way that it would be sort of a mix of the two. I'm in the super early stage where i'm still figuring out if I can do it and how I would, along with if I even get chosen by the people I would be doing the site for. Without going into too much detail the site would need to be able to upload word documents, accept payments, and have a couple different classes of users. Iv'e been doing programming for a couple years and have made a website before, but nothing that is on this scale. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to use to make the site? Any help will be appreciated.
  12. I was checking out ebay and there were a couple 7950's for $50 or $100, probably used for mining heavily, but still, thats only $50
  13. thanks, I have it now where It pops up to tell you that it is not a valid product, but I want a different one to go away after a couple seconds
