It's fixed and im an idiot. So i took out the SSD and gave it fresh install and put it in another system that i was testing to see if defective install or CPU trouble. I think when i put it back in it changed the boot order but there was also a boot order BBS or something and it had to be changed to SSD from there or the SSD itself wouldn't show on the actual boot priority area. So at least thats resolved :)

Its just how its labelled in my country here means corporate stable model so i dont think has to do with anything here? You talking about that legacy boot module CSM? I think its disabled by default.

EDIT I've put my ram back to 3200 at this point for the kit, even when DOCP wasnt on the crashes/BSODS were still happening if anything more frequently so i dunno what to do about this anymore

No, the settings of a DOCP profile are stored in the sticks themselves.
You won't "Overwrite" them with any changes done in the BIOS, takes an actual SPD programming tool to do that and that's some really advanced stuff you'll probrably never even have to worry about or even see yourself.

The changes are held by the BIOS and will revert if you go back to defaults or just reset the BIOS.
As for disabling and reenabling, yes it goes back to the programmed defaults of the DOCP profile everytime you enable it.
If you change voltage from a DOCP default of 1.35 to 1.36 and then disable, then reenable DOCP it will reset voltage back to 1.35v's - At least it's supposed to but if the board's voltage options are set to manual it may not but I believe even with that it gets changed back to it's defaults.

Right now i ran scannow and it apparently fixed some errors. Also ran chkdsk /r so we will see where it goes... I've replaced nearly everything in this PC but CPU at this point and while going from 3k series to ryzen 5000 would be nice id rather not...

Hmm so it would be 2 NVME SSDs, 1 SATA SSD and 2 SATA HDDS along with a 3070, and a capture card. Very full computer lol. Thanks guys i might play it safe with the older windows install being in there and just copy files onto an external before wiping it clean for storage, which I guess ill just do via windows install before installing it on the 1TB.

Hi guys quick question are system restore points kept after you update to a new version of windows? What about if you decide to rollback a version too are restore points still saved before you updated?

Yeah i was originallyly going to but im not gonna take chances, its my only current CPU and i was going to go 5900x but i said id wait it out especially since its way out of stock atm. Id rather pay 55 bucks and have someone who knows what they are doing do it instead of loosing 500+ in hardware (AUD prices) but thank you for the suggestions guys, will let you know how i go

Yeah no need to change anything i still have them downloaded but im probably going to do a clean reinstall soon and wanted to see if there was any later versions but Skii's already answered that.

I mean for a 3080 I'm probably going to take the advice of Jonny up there. 3070 doesn't seem as cut and dry but probably would still use 2 as recommended above. Just means if i want my case looking a bit clean i might have to order single cables so I don't have to use the Y ones. Just amazes me that corsair gives you 2 Y-cables and not 1 y-cable and 1 single.

Appreciate it, right now im looking at 750W i don't think i really want to go higher than that unless necessary. I don't plan on manually overclocking yet (CPU not GPU) but it is something i have thought about, although it would be a first time for me, and I already use D.O.C.P for my RAM and that's fine.

Actually is 165 overclocked but i dont use that little feature
I'm not upgrading the CPU anytime soon, at least not until motherboards start rolling out with DDR5 RAM which i assume is in the next couple of years but even then would wait for how expensive it could be
Well RM750X still seems like a good choice, although I thought Guru stopped doing reviews?

Anyway I still would prefer to get a PSU now because my MB is coming back from RMA and I dont want to have to redo everything when i do choose a GPU. 3070 has been delayed which is annoying and then probably after reviews chances are bots will take em all again so its a choice between 650w and 750w and one of those 2 cards.

So i use a local account for my machine on windows 10. Apparently i noticed today after resetting my PC and looking at the start menu i noticed a medal icon with microsoft points. Puzzled i went to settings and apparently under email & accounts under accounts used by other apps my hotmail is there. What is this because i dont recall doing anything that would allow this? And if i click remove im worried its actually going to delete my hotmail account.

I ended up just leaving that cable out and plugged the sata power in, the speed controller at the front still works but i don't think the fans show in the BIOS
 
Yeah already just put in the power, i think the fans are already connected somewhere else so i dunno why that 2 pin is there

So looking at this image i have posted i can see sata power and 2 pin connector for the fans but i have no idea where the 2 pin fans go (which i think connect both rear and front fan). I'm using a X470 Asus prime Motherboard.

I assume you use that USB installation media thing? He just browses the net and its already got an ssd the laptop is perfect for him. Just hope firefox and things will remember his details because i dont remember them off by heart and i doubt he really cares... (which is something i keep saying to remember your damn passwords)

OK so my step dads laptop finally needs an upgrade to 10 due to 7 losing its security updates. Normally if this was mine I'd do a clean boot and be done with it and just backup my stuff that i wanted. However he is a very... moody guy when it comes to things how he likes it so its gonna be annoying for him going to 10 to begin with. I still read that the upgrade path for free still works and im thinking of going that route. Just wanted some confirmation would most of the programs like firefox google earth (dunno why he bothers) etc still go along for the ride along with its settings? His bookmarks, auto logins etc? Will some files and folders on his desktop still be there after the upgrade or is this something that windows 10 will no longer show?
 
To be on the safe side I plan on using Macrium reflect to make an image but i thought I'd ask some people who may have already done it.

Well first update was a bust, checked for updates again apparently theres a cumulative one. Started when it first went to 1903 i think so hopefully this will be the fix.

EDIT unfortunately none of the updates have fixed it. Still got a gap on the left when searching. The gap is normally where file explorer etc is if you weren't searching or settings and feedback is when you are. The gap currently has a video there because it was in the background for now but it shows that its not the normal black bar.

Except the external is not formatted as FAT32 It's formatted as NTFS as is my internal Data Drive.

Was gonna say that doesn't the lower watts usually mean it needs to work a bit harder to keep it cool, it's what ive seen posted many times
 
I wouldn't do that anyway, it doesn't seem worth it when the GPU is the easiest thing to upgrade in a case.

I would like to see a review or 2 on Nokia's new Android phones, especially the 6, 7 and 8 (i think they were done by HMD global)
