  1. Pretty much this. I don't even use a wrist strap when working in my computer. Its as simple as touching anything metal to discharge any built up static and repeat every so often when moving around. For the wrist strap, just pin it to metal in your computer case or some sort of metal nearby. Like Salmiakbal said, no need to over think it.
  2. I've read on the forums that there is a place where you can order a sample of switches so that you can see firsthand what each one is like. I myself own a K90 and now a K95, and the red switches are perfect for my gaming needs. I do OK with typing too. Corsair was my first entry into the mech keyboard scene, and I may order a switch sample to compare them to reds. Now if I could only remember where I saw them...
  3. Like others have already mentioned, the DFGT is a solid choice that will fit your budget. That is if you can find one for that price. Its a great wheel that I used for GT5 and some PC games. Has a nice solid feel in the wheel itself, force feedback is strong, and the gas\brake pedals are ok for what they are. Too bad I gave mine away some time ago when I upgraded to my Fanatec CSR and Elite pedals. But I'm sure there are others out there that will unload the DFGT for a decent price.
  4. Been lucky over the last few years. Last time I had an issue was like 2007 when I had an OCZ power supply go out. And before that, I had a DFI Lanparty SLI-DR mobo fail, then I jumped to Intel and have not looked back.
  5. I would say that it could, especially if still connected to the wall, and even then like Vitalius said, it happened even when unplugged. I always unplug my power supply before working in my computer. I also don't go messing about inside one for the off chance there is still electricity in the components.
  6. To me, that is none of my concern. The devs, or anyone who works for the team, have a job and get compensated. Now if nobody is buying their work, then chances are, there will be no money to keep them on board so that they can continue to collect a paycheck. In every company, there are big wigs who make a ton of more money than the workers who keep the company alive. However, that doesn't mean we should punish them for choosing to work for EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc. Now if that is truly an issue you have, then maybe throw some support for Indie devs, or a smaller company like CD Projekt RED.
  7. Pretty much this. As an adult, taking software and not paying for it is wrong no matter how many try to justify it. That's just my opinion. I don't expect everyone to agree. Thing is, if it wasn't for the regular Joe's buying and supporting the devs, there would be nothing for anyone to pirate .If everyone pirated, what would be the incentive for a dev to continue creating the games we like to play? I don't understand how some are OK with pirating only single player games because they apparently have no use after beating them. Um, some people play games for the experience. And just because nothing is physically taken, does not mean its not stealing. You are obtaining software code and downloading said code directly to your HD, without compensating the devs for their hard work. And to say that, well I wouldn't have bought it anyway, is a pretty ridiculous statement. If people were not going to buy it, then why bother with it at all? And if its too expensive, well hey, that's life. There are many things that I cannot afford, or will not pay for, but at my age my thinking is not, I have no money so I'm going to DL it because I'm entitled to it. Again, this is just my take on it.
  8. Nice build OP! And who cares what you put in it. Its your case and what you do with it is your prerogative. Not everybody is into custom water cooling.
  9. I really don't like the look of that for some reason. The standard way just seems more pleasing to the eye if you have decent braided or all black cabling.
  10. I'm actually really looking forward to this feature. Compared to my Motorola DVR, the xbox interface is 100 percent better.
  11. Not sure where you live, but Newegg has the Gene in stock.
  12. An Asus rep "Raja" on another forum said July was the estimate for the Formula.
  13. ^^^Ugh, no thanks on the green boards....although I bet someday it will come back as a retro version. I think the Formula is a neat board, but in reality I would not even use the watercooling features or extra PCI-E slots. Now if they released armor for the MATX...
  14. ^^^ On another forum an Asus Rep commented that they were shipped out already and that it depends on the retailers to when they come into stock. Either way, not to have anything ready for launch was kinda dumb IMO. Like most of you I have parts ready to go but no Mobo. And I am waiting on buying my CPU so that I can purchase them together and maybe get a combo discount.
  15. Same here. Waiting for this to come in stock. I have always gone for ROG for my builds, but if MSI had made a MATX Gamer Series, I would have jumped ship. I should be patient, but when there is no product to buy, I start looking at the competition to see what they are doing. I'm hoping they come in this week.
  16. How about this? I used to own it back in my early socket 939 days. NZXT Nenesis Elite. Look at it...just look at it!
  17. Good catch! I totally missed that detail.
  18. I agree with the others, your rig looks great and your Mobo is one of the better ones out there.
  19. Waiting on an Asus Maximus VI Gene myself. Hopefully it will get released this month.
