    My 350D

The Mobo is rock solid. No hardware issues thus far. I tuned my fans with the Thermal Radar 2 software and haven't had any issues with the fan RPM's. Is that the same software you are referring to?
  2. First time hearing about this. I'd be happy with a Mass Effect clone with a Firefly ship to zoom around in and different parts of the galaxy to explore and loot. Replace Shepard with Brown Coats, done. B)
  3. I'm interested even though I really don't need to build another computer. But then again, I could build an ITX build for Steam OS to stream my games....
  4. It's not the best practice, but it just might boot with no issues. Just need to uninstall any old drivers and put the latest mobo drivers in there. I did the same when I moved from my old 1366 build to Haswell originally and had no issues. You might have to reactivate windows though. But eventually I would just bite the bullet and reinstall. I ended up putting a clean install when moving from Windows 8 to 8.1 a few weeks ago.
  5. XBMC works for me. Went this route when I moved to 8. http://xbmc.org/
  6. ^^^^Things get discounted for no reason all the time on Amazon. While I am sure there are always people with problems, there are also people who are happy with their purchase. With Amazon's great CS, one could always return it if it turns out to be a bad buy. Overall, Klipsch is a great brand. I have their S4's and they are rock solid and used at the gym. I bought these E1's to compare. At 11 bucks, I'll take a shot in the dark.
  7. LTT and ToT unite! Hope they shut that fake down! I enjoy his reviews on YT. Has great energy.
  8. I remember the Microsoft back peddling after some backlash from the community regarding the one computer license and one time use. But since then they added this for 2013: 4. You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you, but not more than one time every 90 days (except due to hardware failure, in which case you may transfer sooner). If you transfer the software to another computer, that other computer becomes the "licensed computer." taken from Amazon's page: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-Student-1User-Download/dp/B00B1TGUMG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379464704&sr=8-1&keywords=microsoft+office+2013 Of course with 365 you can install up to five computers, but you will be paying a yearly fee as opposed to the boxed\DL retail version of a one time fee. A trade off for sure.
  9. Yea looks normal to me. My 4670k OC to 4.2 hits 27-30 at idle and 55-60 when gaming. Using an H100i.
  10. Just a personal preference, but I hate those huge annoying sigs that clutter other forums. Just sorting through a conversation when most replies are less than one sentence is bollocks.
  11. I can assure you that a Computer Science Degree will not land you six figs a month. If its not that degree then disregard. haha
  12. Picking this up as soon as I get home from work! Great deal IMO.
  13. Did the Ontrack status change to delivered? If you believe in Karma, I would just return them and make Amazon pay for shipping. And besides, if you do call Amazon, they may not even want them back. Your call, no one here can made that decision on your behalf.
  14. Insert "Mother of God" meme here:
  15. Having your password policy standardized in such a way is just bad password administration in general. I can see that they, maybe your IT department, are trying to keep the forgotten password to a minimum. but seriously asking users to store their password on the phone, requiring everyone to CAP the first and number the end is just opening your company to HAX. As a Sys Admin, here's what I would do. Use at least two or more of the following: Require one CAP letter anywhere in the password Require at least one or more Numbers Require one special Character such as !@$$ Tell users not to enter their password into a phone, especially since a lot of people don't have a screen lock.
  16. Nah, I would not pay for AD Free access to youtube. I don't mind them and will let them run for LTT and others I enjoy watching. Also youtube also needs to make money on ads, otherwise why would youtube be around? Someone has to pay the bills. The other day I watched a 6 minute ad for LTT! Six freaking minutes, lol. It was for Barracuda hardware so I was mildly interested since we use them at work.
  17. Pretty neat! I have almost 200 games....I might be Mr. Popular pretty soon. B)
  18. At most I think you should be able to lock your own threads, but deleting them is too much power for a regular user to have. Any replies from other members would be removed and some might refer to them later. All the forums I have used always required a mod to delete theads.
  19. Only recently when they came with my K90 and now K95. I really only use it when FPS gaming and being lazy. When typing I don't rely on it. Don't use them at work either.
  20. I have an H100i on a 4670K and get 29C idle and about 55C when gaming for a few hours. That's with my slight overclock to 4.2GHZ. I don't think you will see much difference in a push pull config, even if you could fit it. What case do you have and what is your case fan configurations? Also would you know your ambient temps in the room?
  21. I also have the 860 but have no coil whine. On or off its dead silent. I ordered directly from Corsair and I believe it was recently manufactured in May-June of this year. There were also reports of the i version having the same issue, but Corsair have said on their forums that the 860 whine was resolved a few months ago. Either way, any manufacture can have coil whine so I would just buy the one you want and find out first hand.
  22. While I don't necessarily build with future proofing in mind, I do like to build my computer with good midrange hardware that should last me for about 3 years. Once I feel that gaming performance is dropping, I start from scratch all over again. At most I might recycle a hard drive or power supply.

    My 350D

Awesome Job! I'm in the 350D, Gryphon club too. Have the armor kit on mine but even without it, yours looks clean and colors do work well together.
  24. Its fine, that is normal for Power Supplies. The box probably doesn't have it so that it looks more appealing to the buyer.
  25. Usually there are other factors such as reviews and such, but I always refer to a Linus video to validate my decision. Things that I have seen Linus open and purchased: Corsair H100i Corsair Vengeance Pro Corsair 350d Corsair SP and AF fans Corsair Vengeance 2000 Corsair K90 and K95 I'm sure there are others too.
