  1. Got a good deal on a Alienware 15r3 but it comes w just a hard drive. I want to put an ssd in but not sure if its worth the extra bucks to get a PCI ssd. I am between a 250gb 960 EVO PCIe for $120 or a WD blue 500 gb SATA for $120. I have never had a PCIe ssd before my current laptop and desktop both have SATA ssds. Is the speed of PCIe worth it for a laptop? I would use it for boot + programs and games on the HD
  2. I want to same some money. 120$ for 500 gb sounds good to me. Not looking for killer speeds just want something faster than a HD
  3. i see. It is my lack of understading of how this works. thank you for explaning this. So I can use the updated ssd in the older m.2 socket and it will still work. Meaning that I can use the second link for the ssd. Thank you to everyone again.
  4. Just placed an order on this laptop http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/alienware-15/spd/alienware-15-r4/dkcwkblf002s I need to ass an ssd to it but not sure what the from factor of the ssd is? Support told me the laptop supports 2 full m.2 PCIe/SATA drives Is this the right ssd? https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-960-EVO-Internal-MZ-V6E250BW/dp/B01LYFKX41/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1525105064&sr=1-3&keywords=m.2+PCIe&dpID=4159ZfyuXoL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch or is it https://www.amazon.com/Blue-NAND-500GB-SSD-WDS500G2B0B/dp/B073SBX6TY/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1525105639&sr=1-4&keywords=m.2+ssd&dpID=414qQ4t9k2L&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch Thanks!
  5. well yes you are right but it will be pushing 550 watts, leaves no room for upgrades
  6. Very good points about over clocking. I will definitely go for the 650 watt. or even the 750 watt.
  7. Considering upgrading my gpu to a 980ti , I already have an i7 4790k. Pc part picker is estimating 486 watts power draw. My questions in would a 550w evga g2 be enough?
  8. Thanks everyone! I think I'll upgrade my psu and take all the fans out of my case and put 2 quite ones in and see my temps at full load
  9. I have the msi 970 so the fans are off I think my issues is my psu fan. I think it's the loudest. I have s Cx 600m . Would a evga g2 be more quite?
  10. If only that was practical
  11. Best way to make your as quite as possible? Is it possible to make it make no noise? I have an h440 , i7 4790k and a 970. I have 4 case fans installed and my cpu cooler is a 212
  12. I have a i7 4790k at stock for now and I couldn't be happier. In games it doesn't get maxed out I see myself using it for another 2-3 years. In my opinion skylake isn't worth it for the price to performance. Just got for the lga 1150 mo that can overclock . I love my Asus maximus VI

    Dayz

I can't stand standalone I want to be able to make a base and slowly build up gear, go on raids and standalone just can't provide that. I would love to play the mod with more toned down weapons but it's all op
