Say whatever you will on the iPad Pro bending issue, but this particular viewpoint irks the hell out of me in general (and this is not the first time I've seen this justification.) The existence of bigger issues in different facets of society doesn't just immediately invalidate other issues. The irony in such a comment is that this person took the time out of their dealing with "real" issues just to judge others. Pfft, what an inefficient use of time... /s
