why did they do a build guide in the first place? especially when there's so much saturation in that department on that platform, are they that much in desperation to oil the crazed media machine with any thing they throw in to keep things running?

@Tech_Dreamer at the end of the video (after the rigorous benchmarking tests with LoL at 1080p with a capped framerate), the host claims that now The Verge has a powerful gaming system they can use to test the new graphics cards (2080/2080ti) when they are released.

&& also this was one of the hosts tweets the day after the video went live.
 

i wonder if he got pushed to do something like this or he was a bit self overconfident to make this , either-ways he did it with very little research on knock off build guides , i bet anyone in the forum here can do things far better than how he did it in that video .

Definitely overconfident.

There's a clip from his twitch stream where he discusses the situation and he says that the people who are complaining about the video are just angry nerds, and how he has built other computers before and the computer he built was better than anything the people complaining have.
