The Zen rig is starting to take shape. I bought a 2400G, 16GB 3200MHz Ripjaws (unfortunately not B-die) and a B350 Gaming ITX/ac (would've gone X470 but Micro Center didn't have it and the board is $65 after rebate).

    Couch gaming and emulators, it's a small form factor machine

    It may have been better for it, sure. Less CPU performance but over 2x GPU performance. Price was certainly part of the equation though, since the Zen combo costed $400 and the Intel alternative would've costed almost $600 at Micro Center.

     

    I plan on tossing a next-gen ITX card in there when they come out, maybe an x80 tier AMD card or an xx60 tier NVIDIA card. The x8 PCIe bandwidth that the 2400G allocates to add-in cards shouldn't be much of an issue either.
