Ok so I just built my first PC, and I have a crucial 240GB SSD and it works no problem. But… I also have a 2TB Seagate Barracuda and it doesn't show up in anything. Not the bios or in disk management. So, what's going on here?
-
I had the same problem, if you are using an nvidia graphics card look in the nvidia control pannel and make sure the monitor is enabled.
No, Intel graphics.
-
are you saying that its not turning on?
because you didnt exactly state that in your post...
have you tried using it with other devices?
maybe its just dead
old electronics die eventually
Yes, its on. Its just not displaying.

Hi,
I have used a Dynex TV as my second monitor for some time now, and have never had any problems with it. Until tonight, I turned my computer on, then I pressed the power button on my second monitor, usually when I turn it on (When the login screen displays), there is always a light black (some what gray), screen. Tonight, just black. Then I logged on, black. I tried changing the resolution, switching cables, but no avail. Please help me out here.

I'll keep working on itFor $1500. I would say at least a 4790k. 5820k would be possible too if you can go to microcenter and actually look for deals.
-
so if I had an i5 it would be better?First one with the FX8 is stupid. The second 970 will be useless and add not additional performance compared to if it had an i5. Secnd one os far better.
-
don't worry I looked at itOr ignore mine =w=

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QFCdLk or http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QCsqvK1) Do NOT Bother with a Titan X. A 980Ti is maybe 1-2% Slower and cost $350 less.
2) For a 980Ti, nothing lower then a i5-4690k,to be reasonable.
-
Ok. I take that in mind. You're not gonna build this anyways but it's a horrible combo. The 6300 literally bottlenecks any gpu that has any sort of performance. It's just a fact that it can't really hold itself in games. An i3 would be better.
-
I'm just experimenting, what kind of cpu would you recommend, in the ball park of bringing the budget up to around 1550-1600, along with a different board.
-
I know this seams kinda crazy, but can I be done? This is what I have picked out --------> http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TWQRcf
$1500 TIGHT BUDGET!

this is slightly slower than the r9 390...its about 10% slower than a 390X and a good 18-20% slower than a gtx980.
390/390X are a better choice they have more grunt and more memory but they consume more energy and run hotter.
Thanks Man!
-
yeah it's a 390X and like every 390X out there it's not as fast as a GTX 980 in games...it does not have to either since it's cheaper.
EDIT: wait wrong link i think...
How is the http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp42974kr compared to the MSI card I had, or a higher end Nvida card
-
390X is the best you can find around that price...it's around 8% faster than a 390 so you might as well save some money and go with a 390 instead...the GTX 980 is the next step-up from those but it's more expensive...this for example is amongst the cheapest 980 right now:
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-gtx980gaming4g
This is faster for gaming though.
What about the one in this build http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

Im still on the fence about graphics cards. I need something with in $400 USD, and great for playing games maxed out, or mostly, for 1080p.
-
Not good...Get a 650 Watt PSU at least...
-
So DDR4 it is?
-
Is the DDR4 Memory worth it? I'm looking for 16GB.
8 Gb should be fine.
-
with that budget you can afford skylake...the cpu cooler you picked is loud and cheap...this one will give you the same temps but will last forever and will remain quieter...this board is better...memory is better...everything is better and it cost the same in the end:

single rads lose to all CPU coolers at, and many below their price point. the pump also tends to make them louder.
Ok, so air cooled it is! Any other tips you can offer me?
-
Dual rad is preferable if you are overclocking, if not just go with an super aircooled solution for better performance.
Would a single rad be better? I'm not really interested in OC, but I may later on.
