  1. Well this is what it says. Anything I should be concerned about?
  2. Recently I've noticed a weird issue with my storage drive. If I try to open a file or directory (for example a shortcut or "Open Recent"), I'll get an error. And if I double click on the drive, I'll get an error that says something like "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." Restarting Windows Explorer fixes the problem, but it's been happening more often lately. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
  3. Good to know. Dual booting it is then. Alright, I have another question: If I have Windows and Linux installed on separate drives, is it possible to boot into one and access the other via VM?
  4. Hi guys! I'm considering doing a new build next year (either AMD Threadripper 3 or Intel Cascade Lake X), primarily for Blender. I want to use Linux as my main OS, since Blender performs better on it, but I also plan on running Windows via virtual machine, for any software that doesn't run on Linux, as well as games. What I want to do is run my OS from an SSD, and have a large HDD for work, movies, games, etc. If I run Windows on a virtual machine, can I access the HDD from within Windows (for example, storing my Windows-only games on it), or would I need a separate drive?
  5. I ordered one yesterday. It looks really good compared to the previous models, especially the matte surface and touch strip. It would be nice if it had a battery free pen, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
  6. Unfortunately, I don't have any restore points from before this particular update.
  7. I want to uninstall the Windows Update KB4013418, but after doing some research, I found it's nearly impossible. I found this guide here, but it looks really complicated and I'm worried I'll screw something up. Here's my setup: I have my OS and all my software except games installed on a 250 GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD. I have an identical one I'm not using, and a 3 TB HDD for all my games, movies, etc. I'm trying to create a system image of the C: drive onto the blank SSD through Backup and Restore in the Control Panel, but it's only allowing me to create an image of C: and F: (the HDD) together. Is there a way to backup JUST the C: drive, so I can boot into the backup in case I screw something up?
  8. How do I do that? When I go to Settings>Accounts it doesn't let me change anything.
  9. One of my programs doesn't let me save to my desktop. This is because this particular program can only save to directories without any spaces, and the path to my desktop is C:/Users/(my first name) (my last name)/Desktop. Is it possible to remove the space from my username without affecting my other programs?
  10. Thanks, you guys!
  11. I'm considering buying either an Nvidia Shield or Steam Link. I'm leaning towards the Shield, but I've noticed that most of my games aren't supported by GeForce Experience. Does this mean I won't be able to play them on the Shield?
  12. If you're only playing at 1080p, the GTX 1070 is more than powerful enough. Even the older cards can do the job just fine (I get around 60 FPS at high to ultra settings on my GTX 980). You really don't need a GTX 1080 unless you want to: Play at 4K resolution Play on multiple displays Play at frame rates higher than 60 FPS Hope that helps.
