Equanox reacted to SaladFingers in Samsung 850 Evo - Pulled firmware update or what? (EMT02B6Q)
Ever since I upgraded my Samsung Magician to version 4.9 from 4.7 I've had a notification about a firmware update.

Something I also want to stress here, for some reason magician did not want to find the updated version normally, I randomly stumbled at their website to find out there was actually a newer version.

Ok so, my current firmware is EMT01B6Q, while the update being reported is EMT02B6Q. I tried downloading it but it always fails. The update itself is nowhere to be found on Samsung's website. I looked around on the web and it seems not many people got said update, some of which had problems, and it seems they actually pulled it.

Is this the case? And if they did pull it, have they provided a downgrade option for the ones that already flashed it? Also what's up with their software, why is it still reporting an update if it's pulled?

I'm pretty sure the 850 Evo is a fairly common SSD nowadays, so has anyone else had this?

600w should be fine for that build, if the CPU was a problem then it shouldn't boot at all, it could be a faulty board maybe. I had a unit that did something similar a long time ago and it turned out to be a bad MOBO

Make sure you use the tool available here to create the Windows USB - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Its important the USB is formatted correctly as a bootable device.  That program should get you a working boot drive.

Also when booting from USB stck, the USB drive is mainly communicating with the RAM.  So if you have another stick laying around you may want to try swapping that out as well, even though it passed memtest.
