  1. Soo turned out to be the memory.. The sticks work fine alone but when both are in all problems arise even though memtest didn't find any errors after 5+ hours. Hope it's not the memory slot in the motherboard itself but will find out in the coming days! Thanks again for the replies, problem solved
  2. Thanks for the quick responses! We used that tool indeed, on multiple USB sticks. I will try and get another ddr4 stick to test I'd it's the memory. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I want to wait as long as possible before sending the mobo back for a replacement!
  3. Hi guys, I'm posting this for a friend of mine who recently purchased and built a new pc. I helped him with the build and everything went fine. The pc will boot up and show the bios but it will not install an operating system. Problem: Linux (Ubuntu) can't be installed because it can't handle the new integrated graphics. This is a common problem and will be fixed in the future so well leave it at that. Windows is another problem. So far we have tried to install windows 8, 8.1 and 10, it will boot off an USB stick but it does not go past the windows logo. It freezes or gives the BSOD and the pc needs to be manually restarted. The bios is working perfectly and we can see temperatures arond 25 celcius. System specs: The build is basically the same as this (except for the PSU and an extra HDD): http://tweakers.net/reviews/4233/3/desktop-best-buy-guide-november-2015-mainstreamgamesysteem.html (dunno if I can link it here, not trying to advertise it or something) Processor: Intel Core i5-6400 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport BLS2C4G4D240FSA Videocard: Asus STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 SSD: Crucial BX100 HDD: Seagate 1tb drive PSU: OCZ 600 watt power supply Tried so far: 5 different boot USB's (Stable and latest Ubuntu, Windows 8, 8.1, 10) Memtest (no errors, working fine) Removed the videocard to see if it was drawing too much power (didn't help) Updated the BIOS to the latest version via Qflash (don't know version yet, will post if I find out) Tried to change AHCI to SATA but the option is not available in the bios... Ubuntu seems to have errors related to not supporting the integrated graphics but Windows gives a different BSOD error every time, i'll try to list them soon but they are only there for a snap second. Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem or what we could try next? Can it still be the power supply? And if not: could it be the CPU that is faulty? Any help is much appreciated! Thank you and hope I gave enough information.
  4. Soo not to get emotional or something but my mom needs a new pc and is always complaining about her mid tower pc (that I built!) Because she keeps hitting it with her for under the desk. It's a pretty powerful pc so not cheap to replace but this zotac would definitely be better and she could place it on top of her desk instead of under. win-win Or I might give her my old mac mini and keep this one for myself ;p
  5. Just bought the EVGA G2 850 watts. Thanks for all the replies! Will let you know how it turned out
  6. Hi guys, So here's the thing, I have a Sapphire HD 7770 GHZ edition videocard and since I couldn't afford a new card I decided to buy an identical card off the internet (second hand) to put in crossfire. The card works perfectly (if their not connected at the same time) but when I put them in crossfire my 600 wat OCZ power supply can't handle it. Framelate drops, crashes and slowdowns appear while all temperatures are fine and CPU/GPU loads are below max. So I need a new power supply.. I've found 2 PSU's that I really like and although I read 750 watts is enough to power these cards in crossfire I want a bit extra (850w) for future upgrades. I really don't know what the difference is between these PSU's and maybe it all comes down to personal prefference but I would like your opinions on it if I may Cooler master V850 https://azerty.nl/0-1073-622300/cooler-master-v850.html XFX Proseries 850 Black edition https://azerty.nl/8-1073-605478/xfx-proseries-p1-850b-befx-b.html Personally I would like the Corsair 850 watts HXi series but my budget will not allow it. So what do you guys think? Is any of these 2 options the right one? Is there an alternative? My budget is pretty low but I do not want to cut corners on this item. Are there any good alternatives? Thanks in advance! System specs: Intel Core i5 4670k 8GB RAM (G.Skill) 120GB ssd 1TB HDD 2x Sapphire HD 7770 ghz edition
