Hello everyone, the last time I created a post was 2 years ago when my first PC failed to post, since then I have learned a lot and decided I wanted to get my feet wet with PC modding, seeing as my Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce OC x3 2gb did not come with a backplate I decided I would go ahead and build one my self, after some research I decided the easiest thing to do was 3D print one, something that was talked about Here my printer doesn't have a large enough print bed so I ended up printing the part in 2 pieces and joined them using a 3d pen but I imagine a soldering iron would work fine too, as far as backplate designs go I decided to print mine in white PLA so I could paint it later which I hoped would give it a nicer finish and allow me to add some silver accents. I painted it with black acrylic paint and used some Martha Stewart silver metallic paint for the accents, the silver paint reflects the light in my case very nicely. Also seeing as this back plate is plastic and my 770 is a hot card I decided to add some vents I imported this SVG into 123d and extruded it through my back plate.
The backplate was designed in 123D I got the dimensions of my card off it's Amazon product page and I measured the spacing for the SLI fingers with a set of digital calipers but a ruler would work too
you can download my design on Thingiverse as an example,
I will also attach some pictures of the finished product, it is attached to the GPU using the amazing force of gravity and was printed with a 5% infill and relatively high-speed settings on a FLSUN Prusa i3 style kit

In person, it looks quite nice but even through my case LED's a fairly dim they still manage to swamp out the camera
