NiceHash pledges to return 4700 BTC, process starts in January
potoooooooo replied to ItsMitch's topic in Tech News
They probably gave them something good in return. IE a percent of profit until they're paid off, something like that. Nicehash is a very profitable business model. It's no surprise they were able to secure funds. Personally i'm never going back, i've found much more profitable ways to mine. -

BF1 is not a fun game. I really hope they manage to actually come out with a fun game this time. -
Chrome 63 will use even more RAM to "protect" you

It's is 100% chrome's fault. That's the only browser it happens in. -

I can't even stream twitch at above 480p without stuttering on chrome on my high end gaming PC. If i try and run a gif at the same time, only one of them works. Switched to firefox full time, not looking back. Inb4 "what about edge?" i've tried edge. Better than chrome, not as good as FF. -

What do I use to clean my loop?
potoooooooo replied to WhiteSkyMage's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I like linus' method Take out your loop, and assemble it outside the case minus the pump/reservoir. Then run some soft tubing on the bottom of a faucet, and run the tap water through the loop overnight. I think linus left the pump and had it running, but IMO that's not necessary. -
Ever been a FULLY water/liquid-cooled build?

Worth noting that HDDs can't be cooled by mineral oil -
Bitcoin is now a household name. My 84 year old grandfather knows what bitcoin is. People who have no business investing in bitcoin are investing in bitcoin. People saying it's a bubble are ignorant. I wouldn't call bitcoin mainstream, but it's extremely popular amongst non tech enthusiasts

First time spending bitcoin... didn't go well

Bitcoin is really messed up right now. Blatantly unusable as a currency. BTW, don't store your coins on an exchange. Keep them on your own wallet. -
Microsoft is bringing Tabs to every Windows 10 App.
potoooooooo replied to wyattzx's topic in Tech News
What control do you think was taken away from the user? And don't say updates, because that was 100% necessary. Zero windows 10 computers fell victim to the ransomware earlier this year, and that's because of automatic updates. Windows 7 has been replaced by Windows 10. It's basically the definition of outdated. A 1999 Civic can do anything a 2017 Civic can do. That doesn't mean the 1999 isn't outdated. -
This is a bit awkward, but i actually use the website they showed off as an example and this has never happened to me. Literally just closed that tab before coming here. Wonder how common it actually is.

You're literally desperate for reasons to keep using outdated software, aren't you? They're not disabling alt tab, they're adding an alternative. I swear, the people who hate windows 10 are so delusional. -

Google’s Amazing Laptop... Hard to Recommend - Pixelbook Review
potoooooooo replied to nicklmg's topic in LTT Releases
Why does it matter that it's less powerful? Most people don't need or want power. There are no ultrabooks with this level of quality for 600 dollars. Windows licenses are free for PC manufacturers, that doesn't contribute to the price at all. Like honestly, you're literally reeing so hard because this product isn't tailored for you. -

Lol not every laptop needs to be a huge gaming laptop. Just because it's not made for you doesn't mean it's dumb. God, some people are so entitled. -

Oh thank christ, i've been so unhappy with the direction EK has been going. Hopefully they return to what they used to be. -
Is this a new issue on an existing loop or did you just rebuild the loop? Is the loop fully bled?
