  1. Hey y'all. I don't know how many others feel the same way, but in my opinion, having the headphone accommodations turned on for my AirPods sound better than the default eq profile. It adds a moderate "V" curve to the eq and makes it so I don't have to have the volume turned up nearly as loud to achieve the same level of clarity. Has anyone found a good third party app or plugin for windows that allows you to make eq adjustments for your AirPods? Thanks!
  2. Hey y'all. I've been using the last gen Dell XPS 2-in-1 (not the current Microsoft Surface Pro style one) for the last few years. The battery life is becoming increasingly horrendous and given Dell doesn't sell this model anymore, I'm looking for a different option. I have a desktop setup for big photo editing projects, but I do a decent amount of photo editing on the go. I'm also a student so I take a lot of notes on my XPS in tablet mode using the stylus. Anyone got any recommendations for 2-in-1 laptops with display options that are good for color work? The HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 is currently my first pick, but if there are other options I'm missing, please let me know. Thanks!
  3. Hey y'all, I'm trying write on a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat on my Dell XPS 2-in-1 using the stylus. Acrobat updated to its new interface a couple weeks ago, but when I try to use the draw tool, I write one thing, and then it immediately reverts back to the selector tool. Am I doing something wrong here?
  4. Quick update after checking the IP addresses in settings (I haven't gone through your instructions yet). IP address of my PC's ethernet connection: 172.16.48.40/26 IP address of the ethernet connection to my NAS: 192.168.0.87/24
  5. My PC is also connected to the internet via ethernet. My NAS's IP address was 192.168.0.86, but I accidently changed it to 172.16.48.40 (IP address of my PC's ethernet connection).
  6. Hey y'all, I recently tried to connect my NAS directly to my PC via my motherboard's type-c port using an ethernet adapter. When trying to setup a static IP on my NAS, I accidently entered the wrong address, and now the NAS is not visible anywhere. I can't see it in Finder nor can I access it through Synology QuickConnect. Pls send help
  7. Hey guys. I've been trying to upgrade my PC to Windows 11, but I need to enable Secure Boot to do so. When I check Secure Boot State in System Information, it says Secure Boot Status is unsupported even though I set OS type to Windows UEFI under Boot/Secure Boot in the BIOS (Asus Prime Z390-A). I set Boot from Storage Devices to UEFI only but the BIOS Mode still says Legacy in System Information. When I disable CSM, Windows boots to my HDD and not my SSD and on a different user that I used to use, so that didn't work either. I also tried switching the partition style of my boot drive from MBR to GPT, but the disk validation failed. Am I missing something here? Thanks y'all.
  8. I didn't move any files around. I just grouped folders together into some new folders.
  9. Hey guys, I recently did some rearranging in my NAS to better organize my bulk raw unedited photos. However, when I went back into Lightroom, many of the collections I had previously made show there are no photos in them. What steps can I take to rectify this? Thanks.
  10. Hey guys, my MSI RTX 3080 Sea Hawk came in yesterday (Newegg Shuffle finally hooked me up). In case you didn't know, it's a water cooled card. I was wondering where in the case would be the best place to mount the radiator (Fractal Define 7 case). It appears the front of the case is the only viable option since my CPU cooler will not allow me to mount the radiator to the top of the case. Is the front of the case a common place for this kind of GPU installation?
  11. I'm probably gonna go with the Corsair RM850x.
  12. I was looking at that exact model actually. Haha
  13. Hey guys. I recently got my hands on a 3080 (Newegg shuffle finally came through). I've been itching for a power supply upgrade as well (mainly to a fully modular one). I am currently running a 750 watt unit from EVGA. Is 750 watts more than plenty to run a 3080 and an i7 8700K?
  14. I'm trying to change my desktop wallpaper, but every time I change it, it immediately defaults to a solid color. I have sync settings off; I have tried deleting the TranscodedWallpaper file in the Themes folder. Nothing seems to be working. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.
  15. Hey guys, I've been trying to post an IGTV video on my Instagram (it's just under 2 minutes long), but there's been a glitch where Instagram says the video is 35 minutes long and gets stuck on the first couple frames. The original file does not seem to be corrupted. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks.
  16. Hey guys. I purchased a new Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 a couple weeks ago. I noticed that whenever my laptop was plugged into A/C power, the fan just ramps up after a few minutes even if CPU usage is low (< 10%). Thermal management has also been set to quiet. Is there anything else that I might missing? Does my laptop go into some kind of performance mode when plugged in? Thermal management has also been set to quiet using Dell Power Manager. As soon as I unplug from A/C power, the issue seems to resolve itself.
  17. I checked that too. Nothing seems to be hitting the CPU that hard.
  18. Hey guys. I just purchased a Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 a couple days ago. I've been noticing that every now and then, the fan will just ramp up to a very noticeable noise level when I'm not even doing any demanding tasks. My BIOS is up to date, the CPU temperatures are fine, and the thermal management in the Dell Power Manager utility has been set to quiet. Anyone else know what I might be missing? Thanks.
  19. Mostly I try avoiding subscription based purchases whenever I can. I might invest in another NAS down the line and keep it at a family's house or something like that.
  20. Using an RDP could work. I refuse to use Adobe's cloud storage solution (or any cloud storage solution for that matter).
  21. Hey guys. A couple weeks ago I purchased a Synology NAS to manage all of my unedited photos. I primarily use my desktop computer to edit photos on Adobe Lightroom, but aside from published photo albums and Adobe Photoshop projects, I store the bulk of my unedited photos on the NAS. I also edit from time to time on my laptop. I was wondering what's the best way to use Lightroom when I'm away from my desktop (i.e. when I'm traveling). Thanks y'all.
