Hey guys, I have been looking for a decent laptop for light - moderate gaming. My budget is 800$ and I have narrowed it down to these two laptops.
Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015PYYDMQ/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B015PYYDMQ&linkCode=as2&tag=hubpages00b7e-20&linkId=QQL3FW6F4IQFYEDR
ASUS K501UX -

The ASUS has a TN panel, but I am not too worried about that as I will just be looking straight at my screen and therefor not worried about viewing angles.
The ASUS is an i7, which means it has hyper threading, and the Dell is an i5 (obviously means no HT) I am not sure if hyperthreading affects games so if someone could shed light on this I would greatly appreciate it.
The Dell is a quad core and the Asus is a dual core. The games I am planning on running are Battlefield (series in general), Assassins Creed, (series in general), and Warframe. The Dell laptop has a GTX 960M 4gb, but the ASUS has a 950m 2gb. This might affect framerate/performance in general, and some light on this and maybe an estimated performance difference would be helpful. Both of these laptops have 256gb ssd's preinstalled, which is what I want. The i7 6500u in the ASUS is a low voltage cpu, but I don't care about power usage, merely just performance.
My true questions here are:
1) Would the hyperthreading that the i7 has be an advantage or no(for gaming, Photoshop, and general internet browsing)?
2) Which CPU is more powerful? (I am personally thinking the i5 is, not so sure)
3) Does the GPU gap make a big difference?
4) Which is better for the future? (I plan on keeping the laptop for 5+ years)
5) The Dell has a 6M cache, but the ASUS has a 4M cache, does that make a difference in anything?
Thanks for your help, please no posting about how a laptop isn't as good price per performance, I am going to college and moving around a lot so I cant build a pc.
Thanks again!
