  1. My peripherals are: Genesis G66 Silent Gaming Mouse, Genesis RX11 Gaming Keyboard, some cheapo 2$ headphones... Total was around 20-25$. Thanks to LMG and Feenix for the giveaway.
  2. My personal toughts are that the phone has a nice desing, there are some bold claims as to it's power and would like to see how this turns up to be, expecting a review on it Linus!
  3. Honestly, the projector is ballin'. Short distance projection for a big image, extremely well suited for lan party or movie watching. From what I can tell within the video, the quality of the image looks good for a 200'' projection, the only question is, how much does it cost to replace the projection lamp after it's worn out ?
  4. @Naeaes thanks! Your reply is right on the spot. I also considered that he could forget something on the keyboard and close the lid on it, but a pen sounds like a real situation, he does some paperwork and uses pens at work @Narnash also thank you for taking the time and checking prices, problem is a bit deeper than that tho. The shop I work at gave him (normally) warranty but obviously his situation is not covered by this warranty. The warranty is dealth with at the company that provides us with those second-hand or refurbished type products. Since he keeps saying that "I didn't do nothing!" I must find an incontestable way to prove that it's basically his fault. We can ship the laptop to the company and I'm sure that they can only send the product back with a "service negation" paper.
  5. @ALwin thank you for your reply, the person that did this said that "It started out (by it's own) with a small dot and extended to this size"... the problem is, laptop was working great for weeks before he started using it, I can only assume he accidentally hit the screen and won't recognize now. (by the way, customer of mine...)
  6. Hello LTT community! Today I'm requesting your help in deciding exactly what's the issue with this laptop screen: http://imgur.com/a/9ho6J Can this (in any way) happen on it's own, without the screen being hit or laptop misused? By looking at the pictures you can tell that the windows cursor is visible behind the black spot, much darker but still visible. Because of this, I'm ruling out "dead pixel" and I tend to believe that it's a case of "internal crystal leak" caused by hitting or applying too much pressure on the screen. Also, the spot is seen even if laptop is turned off, I'm sure it's not "dead pixel" issue. I would love to hear the community out in this issue and would help me a lot. Thank you in advance!
  7. I want a SSD because currently I can't afford one (using 160GB HDD 8mb cache) and I also need to purchase a GPU for my i5 4460, I think people should have SSD's at least for the OS partition because it has much faster load times with high read/write speed. I also think that if your SSD terribly fails you may lose your data, so...
  8. I would like to win the Roccat Kova because I like it's shape better and the soft and slick but awesome RGB touch.
  9. I strongly believe that this Zotac Magnus MiniPC is pretty much the beginning of a new era in the small form factor PC's which can easily replace consoles. Awesome features: - Quiet. - Low power consumption. - Good connectivity. - Small form factor design with strong performance. - Effective cooling system, solid stability. - Portable and easy to set up. - 4 HDMI 2.0 being able to run 4k. - Built-in WiFi. Compared to a traditional desktop pc, this ZBox tops out some critical points for people who like LAN parties because it's small, performant, cool and quiet. It can easily replace a business PC used in a office, tho, it would be a shame to use just a chunk of it's performance. Any casual gamer who settles for 1080p gaming can benefit from the balanced power and thermal that Zotac offers. This being said, I, as many others, would love to own a little portable PC companion to enjoy at a LAN party, work or even at home since it is probably stronger than my current PC. Thanks to LTT and Zotac for this giveaway.
  10. Thank you ! I'm still thinking about that damn PSU, I don't know if I should look for more protections on it or a well known OEM.. Not sure how to pick a proper one
  11. As soon as I decide on a PSU and have the rest of the money I need (gonna take like max 5 days) I'll place the order The thing is, at first I'll only be able to tell performance-wise on f2p games
  12. Thanks Aluminium, you see... if on high with 8GB RAM and 960 the games wont run as smooth as I want, I'd just turn down the settings to medium instead of investing another $150 which I don't have. The allmost $500 I will soon invest in the PC without GPU is a damn lot for me, considering I earn close to $200/month. Now, the price difference between B85 and H97 is around $10 which makes the H97 better for me, not sure why. Now, the difference between 8GB and CHEAPEST 16GB dual channel kit is $40 here, if I was to drag along the difference between GTX 960 and 970 that would add $150 also. Considering I'd like a SSD + Monitor in the future, I would have to say 8GB and 960 are good enough. Any suggestions about the PSU I should get? Like brand, the necessary protections it should have, OEM etc?
  13. Thanks for your response, the thing is I'd like to purchase them new because of the 2-3 years warranty. The used PC market (as in person-to-person) involves too many risks, no warranty or possibly super low warranty times etc. I also work at a IT store and we have furnizors which can bring me some brand PC's such as Dell, Hp, Lenovo etc, but they are not worth it since the CPU is old litography and so on for other parts. Anyone else wanna help me in pro/con about my build, please?
  14. Hello LinusTechTips community! I'm new on this forum, been watching the youtube channels for a long time now and it is time to build a decent pc now 1. Budget & Location Around $485 and I live in Romania. 2. Aim Mostly gaming, I wont need a PC to run the next generation games on ULTRA but I'd like to play some new ones on decent graphics, let's say for example GTA V or some other similar requirement games... 3. Monitors I currently have a HP W2445l 1920x1200 and a Eizo FlexScan S1921 1280x1024(I believe it's the right res..), probably will change the Eizo in the next year with another HP since I got it and I can get it withing a decent price. 4. Peripherals No, I've got the peripherals and I'll use my Windows 7 Ultimate... 5. Why are you upgrading? My previous PC broke and it wasn't nearly as good as I wanted Here are the components I've chosen: Case: Zalman Z3 Plus - I like the design, nice airflow possibility, comes with 4 fans, dust filters, integrated fan controller (for 2 fans). MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H97-HD3 - Since I will be able to afford a GPU within the next 2-3 months, I'll use integrated video beacuse it has the connectors I need, this MOBO also has the gigabit LAN that I need, 7.1 Audio integrated, SATA III, USB 3.0 etc. CPU: Core i5 4460 3.2GHz - This is the best I can afford here, I'd say it's perfect for what I need. RAM: ADATA XPG V2.0 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Kit Gold - I've picked those since they match the MOBO's color theme, they have CL9 and 9-9-9-24 timings which I'd say it's ok. PSU: I originally went for some Corsair NEW VS Series VS450, after which I found out that those PSU's have incompatibility issues with the CPU's sleep state when it's not fully used. Here I needs help into picking something. I welcome all sugestions or changes in my build, also about the MOBO, I'm not sure if I should go for H97 or B85? In the near future I'd like to purchase a GTX 960 to add up to this build's performance. Thanks in advance, Sergiu
