This was my point, I would rather be underbudget with better peripherals that actually enhance my expirience such as a 1440p monitor with the 980ti and nice peripherals rather than having things that don't effect me such as 16gb of ram when I don't use my setup for productivity and a skylake processor that barely actually improves my system. I thought I made this clear in the post.

That's what I think, I don't want to be some guy who upgrades every 6 months because he didn't spend enough in the first place

I know there is no need for 980ti at 1440p because I will get around 90 fps in all games but with multiple graphical mods and without upgrading for another 2 years atleast I want it working perfectly until then.

Yes. It is the fastest clock Skylake cpu. Games are not highly multithreaded. They perform better with faster cores. Four faster hyperthreaded cores will outperform six lower clocked previous generation cores in almost every title.

A Skylake build would cost you something like $1750 minimum with a 980Ti so I decided to go for the good ol' Haswell chipset instead. The 4690K and motherboard is for some future SLI configurations and overclocking. I'm unfamiliar with the SSD you picked so I went for a good SanDisk one instead and WD HDD which I prefer over Seagate. Changed your PSU to a good EVGA GS one and pretty much kept the peripherals the same.

I made 2 builds for you, 1 is completely overkill that I wouldn't recommend getting but you could get if you really wanted to and the other one is what I would recommend getting  because the price to performance is much better.

This is what I came up with. It is right at your budget, it looks great and would completely crush games you wanted to play at max setting, 60 fps. This is it,
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Mullen/saved/#view=rgPrxr   It has a window which you would like and includes a 250gb SSD for those fast load times. You could change the R9 390 to a 970 if you really want to get nvidia which I completely understand with driver issues, it would only cost a little bit more. Also, the 4690k is overclockable so you can get an aftermarket cooler for £20 like the Hyper 212 Evo when you have a bit of extra spare money which will give you great overclocks. Hope you have fun building this

I do audio now (hence my sig ) and some video but want to get more into it. I am spending alot of money on gpus cause benchmarks have proved that sli titan x's will crush sli 980 ti's ofc, underwater (which I am doing). Also there is no advantage of going with a 980 vs a titan since they are the same age so they will degrade the same or should..
