dfg666 got a reaction from LAwLz in What's up with today's livestream?
To be fair his video title implies that he committed a crime when on his livestream he claims he didn't. So it's a clickbait title that's for sure. If he renamed his video title to "We test out Amazon Go" then it wouldn't attract this much heat. Oh wait Linus can't do that, it wouldn't get as many clicks. lol.
Gotta get that extra chicken wings in the freezer somehow right?

Getting Ryzen is like drowning yourself.

dfg666 got a reaction from PCGuy_5960 in This setup can sustain both 4k and 8k 3D ?
Not sure what programs he uses but I'd go with the 7960X/7980XE instead. High core count, High clock speeds and high overclockability. This ensures you to be able to run those single-threaded editing/transcoding programs like Adobe Premiere (look at how 7820X is faster than 1800X despite have same core/thread count. 7820X has higher clocks) faster than Threadripper due to AMD's latest architecture having an issue past the 4GHz frequency which has an impact on single threaded applications. That PSU is way more than enough on 2 1080 Ti's. But of course overclocking, headroom wise and for the future, it's a good investment. I'm throwing price and power consumption out of the window here considering what he needs.

dfg666 got a reaction from Jon Jon in Ryzen 1700X or wait for 8700K
I'm personally upgrading to an 8700K. I was going for an 1800X but after reading and watching hours and hours worth of reviews. AMD's Ryzen simply has poor IPC compared to Intel's current offerings for my gaming needs. 7700K doesn't have enough threads so 8700K is the sweetspot.

Because you obviously don't know how to properly configure RAM.

yea 75c is bad your gpu is going to die in 1 week. liquid cooling is minimum but liquid nitrogen is recommended.

Any CPU is MEANT for gaming. Just how cost effective it is up to that individual/party that will invest in such a product.

lol why are people even trying to stick ryzen in here? we all know ryzen has garbage ipc compared to kaby lake. 7700K at 4.8-5GHz completely annihilates the entire Ryzen 7 at 3.9-4.1GHz lineup at 144hz gaming.

Probably just you but based on what I saw and read from anandtech, linustechtips, guru3d, techpowerup, hardware unboxed, digitalfoundry, tom's hardware, gamer's nexus shows the 7700K beating the Ryzen 7 lineup in 144hz gaming. Even on stock 7700k vs OC'd Ryzen 7. Kaby Lake in general just has insane IPC compared to Ryzen, helps a lot when trying push as much frames as you can.
I too would recommend a 7700K for 144hz gaming.

So you're saying the Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 lineup are meant to be for gaming? What exactly classifies as a "gaming CPU"? Is there such a standard we have to follow to classify a CPU to be "gaming"?
AMD marketed the Ryzen 7 1700X to be a gaming CPU but also content creation.

dfg666 got a reaction from Ordinarily_Greater in A lot of people here argued that the 970 is a bad choice against the 390
It proves that you have a confirmation bias to the 390 as the 8GB of VRAM will "help" in the future. When in fact it doesn't.

It's been 2-3 years since both of these GPUs launched, still holding up to that claim?

dfg666 got a reaction from Herman Mcpootis in A lot of people here argued that the 970 is a bad choice against the 390
Yes I can and I just disproved those that favored the 390 over the 970 due to the fact that they "claim" that the 8GB of VRAM will win over the 970 in the future.

dfg666 got a reaction from Alesek in Dual vs Quad Channel Memory in gaming?
Yea because it means jack shit. You're better off investing in a better CPU/GPU or larger SSD or just save that money. If it had a significant increase in gaming performance then a lot of people would be investing in it.

dfg666 got a reaction from Techstorm970 in RX 470 8GB vs RX 480 4GB?
-Gimped VRAM (Nvidia advertizes it as 4GB when the reality is 3.5GB fast VRAM + 0.5GB of really really slow VRAM)
-Poor DX12 support
No way you'd recommend someone a Maxwell product let alone an older generation Nvidia product. RX 470 all the way.

dfg666 got a reaction from Phate.exe in (Updated!) Resident evil 7 benchmarks
It's funny because if AMD perform poorly in general the comments would've been something along the lines of "What can you say, it's AMD's garbage drivers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ " Yet since it's Nvidia in this case let's blame the company that ran benchmark tests.
