Hi The screen of my Lenovo ideapad Y500 has stopped working. The laptop does still turn on for about 20 seconds and than shuts down. Things I have tried so far: Plugging it into external monitors (I've tried multiple with different connectors) does not work. I have tried this with only one and both gpu's. I have tried switching the ram I have tried reconnecting the monitor connectors (plugging it in and out) I have tried looking with a flashlight at my screen, to see if the backlight is broken I have tried disassembling and reassembling the laptop I have tried switching the laptop on and off with and without an HDD Does anyone have any clue what I could try next?

So, I just bought a refurbished HP Z820 workstation. Before I bought this pc, I installed windows on an SSD, so that I could get my pc running right away. However, I get the error message "Non-system disk or disk error" when trying to boot from this SSD from this new pc. I know this SSD is working and that the OS is working, because it worked on my other pc. I also tried 2 cd's and one usb with windows ios file on them. All three didn't work and I'm sure they were in the correct boot order. Even if they weren't, overriding that boot order didn't help either. Meaning that I'm kinda lost and I don't know what to do. How on earth do I fix this?

I'm having a lot of troubles starting my pc, it won't even go into bios atm. But let me start from the beginning: About 3 weeks ago I kept getting error code 0xc0000225 when I booted my pc. 2 days later however, when I booted my pc this error was magically and it would run without any problems. Next day I got the error again and a few days later I could start it again. So I decided to reinstall windows and upgrade it to windows 10 Pro (from 7 Ultimate). That got this error fixed. 2 days later, my Windows would somehow not correctly boot or something and I could do anything, besides looking at my desktop screen, opening the start menu and move my mouse. I restarted 3 times, 2 times I got the same problem and the 3rd time I would only get the Intel I7 logo, press DEL or F2 to go into bios. Pressing those keys however won't even make my pc go into bios. After the logo disappears its just a black screen. This happened about a week ago and I tried to turn my pc on everyday. On the 7th day I finally got further than that logo and reinstalled windows once again. Now that was this morning and after Windows asked me to reboot, I'm once again stuck on the logo screen and black screen few seconds after that. I really don't know what to do at this moment, so if someone could help that'd just be great!

Update: Took 1x4gb stick out of slot B2, and I now have 36gb working, so B1 is not abnormal anymore.

So I just bought a 16gb kit (2x8gb) to expand my 24gb (6x4gb) to 40gb. I bought a different kit because the old RAM wasn't available anymore. Now I get this error in my bios saying that slot B1 and B2 are "abnormal". Both these slots have 4gb sticks in them and so I got 32gb working, with the 2 different sorts of ram. Both the ram and the slots are working, I got them to work with 6x4gb configuration, so there is no hardware failure. The configurations I tried: GBS A1 4 8 8 4 A2 4 8 4 4 B1 4 4 4 8 B2 8 4 4 4 C1 4 4 8 4 C2 4 4 4 4 D1 4 4 4 8 D2 8 4 4 4 Total working: 28 32 24 24 Now I don't know if this error is caused by some bios setting or if it is the ram configuration. The ram sticks are being recognized by all the slots. If anyone could help me out and get this to work I would be very thankful! It apparently doesnt. How much wattages do you suggest I buy? And what is a good place to find a psu with 2xCPU connectors? Most websites only filter on one.

He said he wouldn't buy a second one but you never know and I personally was wondering if a stronger psu was needed for that. Any advice on the components is appreciated! I believe that the path to my internal storage is somehow incorrect. Without an SD card, my phone does the same thing. I tried reinstalling whatsapp, camera and gallery but the same thing keeps happening. This is so frustrating

The phone detects the SD card, I tried formatting and reinserting it probably a douzen times now and it detected the SD card everytime. I believe its some weird software issue.

Oh, I meant that the problem still occurs. Nothing changed with formatting and reinserting it again. So it was already recognized.

Well, it recognizes it as E drive.
