Im lost... How is AMD changing the naming scheme for their GPUs?

In my mind I linked a mentality of losing respect for someone who buys Intel over AMD, to a loss of respect for those who by NVidia over AMD. Also what’s wrong with buying a 78xx card :) . Also changing their naming scheme?

It's their money, they should spend it to whatever they want. If you don't like Intel don't buy it :-)

I personally don't like Intel after getting 2 broken Core Duo, my Pentium E2200 died this month (-_-) and their illegal practices against AMD.

They're changing the name to R9-i70 O.o didn't you guys see the thread? & xD I have nothing against Intel, I'm planning on getting a 3570k it's just o.o if you're gaming and you get a 7850 when you could have gotten a 7950 if you went AMD, just disappoints me :P .

I didn't read that thread, are they changing the naming of AMD GPU's? FFFUU that's difficult to learn!

xD I was afraid too until I just thought about it; they're gonna have to change it soon because a 10970 doesn't sound right.

It is kind of funny when the marketing divisions of companies come up with odd naming systems for their products and it screws them a little down the line. I am by no means a massive fan of PlayStation but at least their naming system is future proof and makes sense.
