  1. So my next course of action will be to buy a power supply tester and see if the psu is working or not
  2. Unfortunate, tried to test the computer using the 550 watt one but the 8 pin cpu connecter was incompatible meaning it wouldn't fit
  3. Only spare one I have is a 550 watt one, my current one is 850 watt, would the 550 watt one suffice for the test or is that to low?
  4. Interesting, that was actually something I saw in a couple articles I was reading after posting this, however a lot of people were saying a psu is rather dead or working and in my case the computer still works sometimes but I'm assuming the dead or working thing is untrue?
  5. Hey everyone, how you doing? I’ve had a gaming pc for about a year and a half and at the time of building it was a very high end unit (specs included at bottom of post) however in the last 3 months something strange has started to happen and it has evolved into a problem that is almost making my computer unusable. Let me explain, so starting about 3 months ago, I noticed that when my pc would go to sleep, sometimes the mouse and keyboard would light up as if the pc was going to wake back up, but the screen and computer wouldn’t actually wake back up. The computer would kind of freeze until I hit the power switch on the back of the computer or on the power stripe its attached to and then it would turn on normally. Hitting the normal power button on top would not turn it on once this happened which was already concerning. Now this wouldn’t happen every time, but over time it became more and more until I just started powering off the computer completely every night instead. That worked for a while but now sometimes the computer won’t turn on after powering it off as well and its happening more and more often except this time it means I have no way of turning on the computer at all. Since yesterday I cannot turn on the computer and have tried holding down the power button for 30 seconds, unplugging the 24 pink motherboard connector and reconnecting it, I got rid of all dust in the unit about 2 weeks ago, and even tried leaving the computer turned off for hours. Last thing I’ll say is that this issue only happens sometimes, and that is the annoying part for me because it means the computer can work, and all the parts have full functionally, its just the computer won’t turn back on, and that is the problem. Also I sleep in the same room as the computer so that is why I turn it off at night plus I have multiple power outs a year were I live so this computer turning off is inevitable. Any tips, advise, troubleshooting would help, I am open to suggestions and will be active in this post as long as I need to be. Thanks for taking the time to read this. 6. They both say 300V on it and 16A but ones thicker than the other and the thicker one (which came with the psu) says 105c while the one I'm using says 60c
  7. I have a quick question, I purchased a EVGA Supernova GS 1050W and it works fine accept the cord connecting the psu to the outlet is very loose and the whole computer will power down if you even tap it. So I found an old power cord from an old computer and swapped it and it is nice and tight. Can you swap power cords or will it negatively effect my computer? I have a high end gaming pc priced around 2500$ so I don't want this to affect performance in anyway.
  8. Does the C920 Logitech use a memory card and also how much of a difference in performance is a camera like this and a 300-400 dollar one? My old camera had problems adjusting to the lighting of my room
  9. Hello so I built a my first gaming pc off a 2500 build and it is insanely good pc and I needed to find a camera or camcorder to record myself playing games for Youtube. So my question is what is a good Camera/camcorder for recording my face while playing game for around a 300-400$ budget? I might be wiling to go as high as $500 but only if it really makes a major difference. I would need to record for long periods of time like up to an hour. My computer specs in case it narrows the search for the camera: -Intel Core i7-5820K (CPU) -Asus X99-A/USB3.1 (Motherboard) -Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti Hybrid 6GB (GPU) -Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz (32 GB RAM) -Samsung 850 Evo 1TB (SSD) -Toshiba 3TB (Hard Drive) -Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White (Case) -EVGA Supernova GS 1050W (Power Supply) -Corsair Hydro H105 Liquid Cooler (Cooler) -Windows 10 (Operating System) --DVD Burner Thank you for your time!
  10. Oh, I see, I understand what you guys are saying. I guess I thought because the gpu didn't light up like the cooler, I assumed it was broken. I put in the disk and the computer and the files are downloading. To you guys, the solution was obvious, to me being a first build and all, I guess I brain cramped. It seems to be working, thank you for the help guys, I really appreciate it!
  11. What is the best way on Windows 10 to test out if a graphics card is up and running correctly?
  12. I built my first computer today and the process was surprisely smooth. I was able to build the computer and successfully install the cpu, ram, motherboard, cooler, psu, dvd burner, and ssd. I was then able to power on and even install Windows 10 and that is when I noticed the GPU light was not on and the computer could not recognize that it was installed. I put the GPU (Evga 980 TI Hybrid) in until it clicked into place, and then skrewed it in and plugged in the power for GPU. I know there is power going through it because the cooler that is connected to the GPU is working fine and the monitor which is hooked up to the GPU works fine as well. I tried reinstalling the power cables twice and moving the gpu to another location south on the motherboard and it still did not work. I will just freak if I did something to damage a beast of this caliber as I do not know if i can afford a new one. Thank you for your input. -Intel Core i7-5820K (CPU) -Asus X99-A/USB3.1 (Motherboard) -Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti G1 6GB (GPU) -Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz (32 GB RAM) -Samsung 850 Evo 1TB (SSD) -Toshiba 3TB (Hard Drive) -Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White (Case) -EVGA Supernova GS 1050W (Power Supply) -Corsair Hydro H105 Liquid Cooler (Cooler) -Windows 10 (Operating System) --DVD Burner
  13. RAID is something I didn't consider until now. 1 TB might be overkill but I am planning on running a Youtube channel that uploads two gaming videos a day I might have 100 games on the SSD.
  14. I was actually planning on getting the 1300W at first but I did more research on it yesterday and found out like you said that it would be overkill. As for the 1000W, I might be a second video card down the road and also if I overclock my parts in the computer they might use more wattage so to me its just to be safe but I probably agree with you I could get away with 850W.
  15. Could you explain what you mean by touch the heater? Does this have to do with static or some other reason.
