  1. Thanks, however, it's width doesn't help me since it just says Dual-Width... I know the Card is dual-slotted, but how wide is that? Anyone? Googling to see if there isn't someone who already hasn't tried to find this out...
  2. Hi, I'm looking to get the specific dimensions for any reference style 980 Ti's made by various Manufactures. Price isn't much of an issue, but the size may interfere with other plans and I want to make sure I have accurate measurements. Millimetres would be preferred, but inches or Centimetres are acceptable as well.
  3. I'm currently abroad and want to get a pair of HDDs from my home across the country. any tips I could send to the shipee to prevent data loss in the process of getting my HDDs to me?
  4. Before buying any monitors. Thats the absolute maximum. Becase After that there's almost not point in putting any more money than that. I'm hoping to maximize performance as much as possible without breaking that budget, while maintaining as small as a footprint as possible. I didn't know that, but now I do. Negligible temperature difference and power usage, so AMD is looking pretty tight considering the performance I'm getting for the dollar. The newest suggestion you've given is also even lower in my budget, but still on par with a long lasting system. I will watch this part list and get the parts as I can, this build is defintly the most attractive for the balance of my budget and possible upgrade paths later down the road. Albeit, it's not the newest chipset, the newer chipset isn't needed for this build and the LGA 1150 will be just fine. Honestly, I've been thinking about joining team red due to how financially friendly they are compared to nVidia, but I still hesitate due to the number of games using phyXs and their lack of support, but I don't think I'll miss out on too much if I don't have it... Still like nVidia simply due to personal preference, but maximization of the budget is getting to me more then preference. I like it, it's near the top of my budget, isn't overclockable, and has quite a bit in the way of longevity... and doesn't have two rads in a case that doesn't support'em. Hehe... However, the size of the case makes it seem like it will be difficult to store away in.... Say a backpack or in a large drawer. I am quite fine with it though as I can put it in the back of my truck or throw it into it's original box to ship it without worrying about the cost of shipment... At least not too much.
  5. Heh, I have lots of duct tap around, I could do that easily enough. Probably to the bottom of the PSU if it isn't exhausting/intaking air from there. @Starelementpoke While it would be nice, it really isn't neccesary and as @TheRandomness pointed out, that case doesn't support two rads. I"d have to change to something else, such as the fractal design that was suggested in @ UnlimitedTMD 's suggestion. My current idea is listed here, TheRandomness' idea is definitely looking good, well within my budget and with reviews and benchmarks out I know that it'll be a capable machine for a long time. Current plan (Critique, comment, suggestion?): http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gTh2hM I plan to filter all intakes if possible. I have a couple Noctua fans already, I just need one more and I can use all three in that case and really pull air in. I plan to work with how the case is designed and use positive air pressure to help reduce dust due to the area I'm in; It's a little dusty... I am a little leery using AMD GPU's with how much heat they put out, but with what I'm hearing on the net... That may not be an issue if I just make sure to give it a nice feed of air... Also, does the chipset matter? I mean, I have no plans to overclock at all and only plan to use One GPU, because I keep seeing the higher tier chipsets and wonder if it's worth the money for them, or if I can game and do normal things just fine on the B or H series Chipsets from intel.
  6. 1. Budget & Location About 1500 is the comfortable maximum. I can get screens on the cheap where I am so not including screens, or any other peripherals. I'm located in the USA. 2. Aim The aim of this system is to last as long as possible, 7-9 years before thinking about doing another upgrade, and take up as little space as possible. (m-ITX) This rig is going to be used to run a myriad of games, the highest of which being probably Crysis 3, Far cry 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4. All will be played with mods frequently. I have no interest in Over clocking and plan to build as small as possible. 3. Monitors Max of Two, FHD resolution, one 21.5-23" the other 27" . Preferred panel is IPS due to better colour reproduction and contrast. I don't plan to move any higher than the two. 4. Peripherals I already have hdds, keyboard, mouse, and Headphones. Keyboard is a WASD CODE keyboard, mouse is old M$ inteli-mouse, Headphones is Audio-technica M-50 Closed Back, and the hdds are a WD black (2.5") and a blue (3.25") I am looking at getting two monitors and a Kensington Lock. 5. Why are you upgrading? Well, I have been planning it for a long time, I don't mind building it up from the bare bones. SO, I'm planning to build it a part at a time, right now I'm thinking about getting a pentium, g3250 to overclock it slightly while saving up money to get an i5. The i7 is just looking like it's not worth the price for the little performance gain in gaming, according to the many charts that linus and friends have provided; as well as Tom’s-hardware and other sites. Planning around that and, to get a rig up quickly to help replace this old laptop, I will be grabbing the basics (motherboard, RAM, CPU, and Case.) First. Then I'll start grabbing the more expensive parts such as a 980 or a 970. If a 950 Ti comes along, that may be considered instead... I'll update this tonight with the part list that I'm considering right now.
  7. I've been looking at building a computer using a case that can be placed horizontally on a desk and support a monitorduring on top. Any suggestions? Atx and matx motherboards preferred for the limitation on mobo size.
